>My father was a drinker, and a fiend... So one night, he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not one bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He looks at me and he says "Why so serious?!" He comes at me with the knife......"Why so serious?!!"..."Let's put a smile on that face!!"
in my opinion, this monologue from season 3 really captures the exact moment that Walter's personality switched over completely. In that moment, he was a ruthless drug kingpin first, compassionate family man second. a powerful scene from a powerful show.

He was always Heisenberg

This.
To answer your question OP with that in mind, it was near the beginning when he quit from the car wash.

when the guy asked him what his name was and he said heisenberg

sneed

was gonna post this.

When did Walt become Heisenberg? This scene.

>This is my favorite scene of the entire show (which I believe to be the best of all time), and here is why: We find Walter, having confirmed that his own son wants nothing to do with him, at his lowest point. He feels completely worthless and calls the police in order to turn himself in. His motivations are gone, and his humanity has been stripped from him.

>He sits down at the bar for one final drink. By a stroke of fate his old colleagues, the ones who represent the embodiment for all of Walt's misfortunes and regrets, appear to judge Walter one final time. They belittle him and distance themselves from what he has become. Walt is perturbed, yet still accepts it. Then the turning point occurs as Walt's true love (Gretchen) exclaims that all he provided was the company name. Walt now thinks back to how the two people he cared for the most betrayed him in some way a long time ago, and how they've been reaping the benefits ever since. Walt sits there, anger building in him. His motivations spark up. They think him to be dead now, to have run away once again just like before. They think he has given up.

>Then you see it in his eyes.

>Walt has given up, yes. He always gave up. But Heisenberg...he's not dead yet. He hasn't given up. He's still here. And he has unfinished business. Walt accepts Heisenberg completely and Walt becomes Heisenberg, and Heisenberg becomes Walt.

>Then the theme music begins. For the first time in the entire show, the theme music plays during an episode to signify that it isn't over. It's just beginning. Heisenberg/Walt isn't through yet.

>Say. My. Name.

No one cared who he was till he put on the hat

Heisenberg is just Walt's insecurities, pride, bottled up rage and inferiority complex that have their origin in his drama with Gretchen and the selling of his share of the company. He has supressed those feelings for decades, but after the diagnosis he slowly releases the valve over time.

When he was about to beat the shit out of those teens in the clothes shop for making fun of Walter Jr.

When he let Jane die.

Was that before or after he force fed his retarded cripple son tequila until he puked and almost fell into and drowned in the family pool?

Before Hank become Isaac I'm guessing.

Season poo, episode pee

The part where he makes the deal and then beats the shit out of his steering wheel.

the part where he knows he is a cuckold

If he couldn't afford cancer treatments would he die?

After he killed Gus
