There's are several scenes in endgame that make no sense and are clearly pushed by producers and the megacorp behind them in order to forcibly push a putrid agenda.
You don't have to enjoy or partake in comic book adaptations to realize that the issues that plague this specific film are all over the industry nowadays. Endgame is just the worst offender because it will be by far the most watched piece of media in decades.

We only know this because it played out like that in the movie, there was actual potential to be properly done as IW set up a great base for the endgame. I'll not go full autism on the logic behind the stones or how time traveling works because that's an already shitty plot device, they just took a very poor route to go about it, they could've won, but not destroyed what IW established, they are supposed to be the Avengers, not the Undoers.

A more valuable story would've been them just trying to stop him from doing this shit again and getting a handful of the people back with some bullshit explanation to make time traveling the last option (and a bad one) while making clear that they had to be smarter or actually be more united as opposed to what Civil War caused. Sometimes you lose and you can only suck it up and move on with some dignity or at least come back stronger. There are comics on the Marvel universe that actually work on this theme and EG was a missed chance for this to happen.

I know I'm expecting too much, but this franchise held up long enough to have a decent, mature conclusion, instead they went the safe route, as kids that followed the franchise for over 10 years didn't grow into adults to have a more sober view of the world, death and tyranny can take a toll and sometimes becomes hard to judge what is the proper solution, and sometimes you can't undo it. Even old children Disney movies premises understand this concept.
