Have you ever gone through a period where you watched the same movie over and over?

Have you ever gone through a period where you watched the same movie over and over?

For me it's The Wicker Man, if I start to think about the music and the opening scene sometimes I can't help putting it on again.

the original or the Nicolas Cage version?

picrelated for me. I legit watched it 4 times in a row

I love Wake In Fright

Jurassic Park, Star Wars.

Generally loads of movies because in the early 2000s i mostly killed time with my portable DVD player and until 2007 or so I only had like 12 DVDs.

Watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail obsessively when I was 12.

Same movie for me. Jack Burton and Lightning guy were the best.

You know what pisses me off about this pic related movie? We are told by the director and pretentious movie critics that "Kurt Russel isn't really the hero" because of one scene where he knocks himself unconscious near the end. But then he literally wakes up and goes and kills the bad guy in the end and gets the girl. And we're told "Dennis Dunn is the REAL hero!" and like Dennis Dunn almost gets himself killed a couple of times in the movie and Kurt Russel saves him.

So WTF is up with this myth? Kurt Russel kills the badguys, gets the girl, saves the sidekick who is "supposedly the real hero". I mean just WTF? This entire meme is complete BS.

Plus Kurt Russel just generally kicks ass throughout the entirety of the movie.

My guess is that the filmmakers realized they had an "Asian stereotype" / "cultural apprepriation" problem, and so they decided they would try to push this "Dennis Dunn is the REAL hero!" to try to appease the left-wing outrage lobby and Asian-American groups.

Tenacious D and the pick of destiny. Watched it over and over in high school and at one point reintroduced it to my little brother’s housemates. Once during a uni intro week we put it on repeat the entire 5 days straight and would walk in and out of the house at different points, watch some of the movie, sing along, then leave again to party. We watched it close to 100 times I’m sure.

Whoops I misclicked right as I posted, my bad.

I can't tell if this is ironic or not. But I've seen Freddy Got Fingered over 80 times so I can't really judge.

And the dumbfuck film critics and hipster media/pop culture consumers never turn down an opportunity to do something they think shits on white men or America, so naturally they just jump on board with it all even though if you watch the film you can clearly see that this entire meme is BS and is simply NOT what is committed to the cellophane.

As a young man in the Army I watched "old school" most afternoons for almost a year.

I have noticed when nothing else is on TV I do tend to flip it to Big Trouble or Tremors

as a child Terminator 2, Predator, Aliens, The Mask.
As a teen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, so much in middle school.
Nothing really after that.

Yes

I went an entire month where I would watch this movie nearly every night. I have no idea why. It was just something to put on while I drifted off into sleep world at 3 am.

Holy shit me too. The Carpenter and Russel commentary is great too.

Child's Play 2. It's just so good, the music, atmosphere, animatronics.

Problem Child 2. It's just so good, the music, atmosphere, animavomits.

Yes, Blade Runner and 2001

Yes. Getting drunk in the afternoon and watching The Departed every day. Good times

And Alien

When I was a kid we didn't have cable but somehow we ended up with a VCR and a copy of the Matrix. I would watch it everyday after school. Probably seen it over a hundred times.

The Place Beyond the Pines.

Watched it probably 4-5 times during my last semester of first year uni. Big comfy energy.

Yeah club dread lol. watched it 5 nights in a row then a couple months later did it 3 nights in a row

Yeah, when I was like ten years old. It's called being a child.

Exact same movie for me too. Born 1985. Perfect atmospheric movie, perfect soundtrack. Lots of going though portals / Alice in wonderland feeling. Bittersweet. Escape from troubled youth. My absolute favorite movie

Going through it again right now. Been rewatching the Mummy trilogy and the Indiana Jones quadrilogy nearly nonstop ever since they put it up on neetflix.

The Groundhog Day

Because you didn't understand it?

Just recently the Running Man. Years ago was The Big Lebowski and before that as a kid was Wholesale Framed Roger Rabbit.

Movies I could watch over and over:
>Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
>Spaceballs: The Movie
>Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
>Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
>Rocky Horror Picture Show
>Ghostbusters
>Total Recall (Arnie ver.)
>Little Shop of Horrors (80s version)
>Dude. Where's my car!?
I'd totally watch Weird Science and Big Trouble in Little China again too.
I like that 80s action movie and comedy schlock that stretched into the 90s and early 2000s. Just fun movies that don't take themselves too seriously but also feel like an adventure in its own right too.

What? What about it made you uncomfortable? It's fucking true shit man. How the fuck is Kurt Russel not "the hero" of the movie. It's retarded. WTF does Dennis Dunn even do? Kurt does everything in the movie lol. Yeah the other characters are capable and play their part but LMAO come on. It's a retarded argument and retarded normies eat it up unthinkingly cuz they think "its inside information!" or "its deep!" or it's some little bit of information they know that everyone else doesn't, so they think it makes them cool. But actually they are just fucking dumb and can't see plainly obvious things that play out on screen.

Burton does fuck all until the end of the movie and kills Lo Pan single handedly AFTER he becomes mortal again. But he is recognized as one of the ballsiest mother fuckers to go against Chinese demons and ghosts and his plodding American egoism doesn't acknowledge just how much danger he's in. It's Wang who basically tells Jack when to shut the fuck up and when to Smash through the brick fucking walls and live through it all. It's why the end of the movie with the yeti is such an interesting plot hook on what's going to happen when Wang isn't around to save his ass.

Oh and Labyrinth.
>No one came blame you
>For Walking away
>Too much protection little girl
>No love injection

Jack Burton is a bumbling sidekick who just thinks he's the big action hero when in truth he isn't. Sure, he gets some wins here and there but for majority of the movie he's completely out of his element, doesn't know wtf is going on, is useless in fights, and for the most part just bullshits his way through with sheer arrogance. That's the fucking joke. Carpenter has been talking about it for ages and even Kurt Russell knows it's a gag.

Only a complete brainlet who can't see past his own neckbeard would try to deny this and argue the opposite with delusional "oh it's just a meme pandering to the SJWs" bullshit argument.

I watched the entirety of Red Dwarf like a dozen of times

Oh shit! Me and my friends watched Big Trouble in Little China three times this week. We even bought the board game. the world is so weird, violent and vibrant.

i went through a period where i had a lot of casual sex with strangers

but because im an autistic controk freak i used to watch Evil Dead 2 with them as a prelude every single time, since it is the perfect hookup film and i didn't want to take the chance of ending up with a shitty film
>scary at times so they cuddle up to you
>funny and lighthearted
>plot isnt important
>weak ending means it doesnt matter if we turn it off before it finishes
i must have watched that film 10+ times
