All this extra work put into new designs, which means new assets and new rigs, and yet the show got an even colder reception online. A portion of the already paltry fan base of the first series thought this was a kiddie reboot and skipped it completely.

I am certain that it extended the production even more, meaning that even more people forgot the series existed.
I actually do like the new designs, I think they are cute, but the writing is a lot shittier, partially because they have to re-establish a lot of the same information and completely changed character dynamics.
I am generally not against reboots, I'm actually fond of many, but this series did not need it. I would have much rather had a real Season 2

Despite the relatively short time, Leo developing feelings for Teodora during the last episodes felt organic while I'm used to see this shit forced by the writers. Leo ignoring her before could be explained in-universe easily for Leo being focused on her rivalry with Marcela, his boyish dreams of adventures (girls mature faster than boys) and seeing Teodora as own of his ghost companions but things changed when he started interacting with her in flesh

She's still able to transcend time somehow though, turning up with a smartphone and modern fashions. Kind of a cool thought actually, that once someone is dead their ghost can then exist at any point in time they like without having to experience time in a linear fashion.
