Not him but there isn't that many of them. There's Godzilla vs Megaguirus, GMK, Godzilla X Mechagodzilla and it's sequel Godzilla Tokyo SOS, and then Final Wars, 2014 and Shin (then the anime but that's not live action)
I'd recommend all of them except for X Megaguirus. The Millenium Era isn't very strong as it has no continuity with eachother, only tied to the original, and in Final Wars case, not even there.

Watched the HBO first look. They basically have the entire scene from when Ghidorah is released from a giant glacier and first fights Godzilla, and the focus is mainly on the monsters in that scene.

Well the original movie from 1954 obviously.
All of Heisei Era are the most essential in my opinion.
Showa Era if you want campy, goofy and lighthearted.
Millennium Era if you want to go full anime.
