I know you faggots probably wont believe me, but my dad is good friends with Alex. He said that he has accepted his fate, he will be gone within a year or so. He's going to try experimental treatment and hope it does something. His children who are in their 20s are very broken up about it. He will also continue doing the show as long as he can to help his mental state.

Jeopardy is way too fast-paced for Steve to handle. Honestly, I'm not sure who could fly through two boards of clues and make commentary as smooth as Alex.

My guess is minimal editing. They run a tight ship over there.
Sometimes Alex will re-record the questions he flubbed on. But he spends hours of prep time going over each game board before taping

not at all. cancer is very much an old person's disease. young people with cancer are outliers. it's true that one in three people will get cancer in their lifetimes, but from that you should get that 2/3 people, regardless of age or lifestyle, will never get cancer.

even people who were long-term heavy smokers only have roughly a 10 percent chance of dying of lung cancer (though that's not exactly a positive statistic. A 1 in 10 chance of dying an unpleasant death over something stupid is absolutely not with it)
