>tfw we will never see a film / series like this again
>tfw the pinnacle of television and film has been reached
>it will never be surpassed
Tfw we will never see a film / series like this again
I basically rewatch this every week. There's nothing else to watch desu
Tolkien’s legendarium is one of the top 3 fictional universes of all time. And unlike most others, he built it by himself.
You sound like a very boring NPC.
the first one was ok. the rest were garbage. 5/10 series at best
Tolkien was a low-budget Homer
Do you ever feel like you're intellectually limiting yourself by declaring a film you've seen a decade ago is DA BEST EVAR nothing will ever come close to it? no? then carry on
game of thrones would have surpassed it, had it not been for the sjw shit creeping in halfway through the series. What a waste.
No. Thanks to forced "diversity" and shit like that, we will literally never see anything like this again. That is simply an irrefutable fact.
Homer was a fucking pleb.
No.
wrong image
Content and story-telling take a back seat to "diverse characters others can identify with" where the screenwriters become so self-absorbed with pushing their bullshit that they lose sight of the story that's supposed to matter.
It's a fucking crime. And anyone who criticizes it immediately gets shouted down as racist.
>yaas queen
>diversity
>feminism
so, you agree with my post then? When I said all that shit ruined the show?
>be crowned king of men
>proceeds to be an example of racemixing by kissing his elf slut
>then makes all men in Gondor bow down to the race of smoking-addicted midgets
Was Aragorn a SJW?
he was dunedain, an ancient line of half elves, also Arwen was a distant cousin of his, technically.
If you didn't see it in theaters as a kid(10 to 14) then you missed out.
>Born too late to explore the world
>Born too early to explore the universe
>Born just in time to watch LotR as a young adult
They did it right by deciding there would be three movies, shoot them all at once, then releasing one every year. Jackson had a story to tell, and he visualised it, produced it and released it without taking the audiences wishes/media feedback in consideration when making the next ones.
And that’s how you make a good trilogy that doesn’t feel like a moneymaker for the sake of moneymaking
How do you think people will look back on LotR in a few more decades?
It's obviously going to be a classic forever, but I wonder what sort of circles it will be discussed in. Doesn't really suit the ordinary classics like Godfather, but it's just so far above standard fantasy fare.
im genuinely surprised it hasn't been thrown under the bus already
>all the good guys are white
>99% of the characters are men
>all the bad guys are arabic/black dudes/orcs
>the movie depicts western people defending their countries
very problematic in this times
I think it will have a resurgence soon, some idiot blogger will post about how the cast is too white and too male, which will spark a huge debate with some of the producers backing down and agreeing it is "problematic", and the masses will reaffirm that it is an excellent series
>tfw whatever comes form here on out it is going to be horribly twisted to fit agendas.
>imagine the LOTR movies coming out today made by Disney.
You realize Tolkien was a full blown racist, right?
except that already happened like 4 years ago you basement dwelling autists, orcphobia is a thing now
everyone is, stop pretending otherwise.
it isn't really though is it? most people acknowledge that it is an incredible trilogy, and the people posting shit like that are only doing so because of its status so they get attention
Yeah I mean a huge portion of classics have a problematic racist edge to them, but time and collective appreciation have made them untouchable.
Yikes. LOTR fans are worse the SW fans when it comes to undeserved hyperbole praise.
>SW fans
>praise
Have a (you) for the wrong reason
