How could he be such a hypocrite? The gems all try and find him to no avail.

Finally Lapis is able to locate Steven who is in the midst of corrupting. Suffering alone, still trying to hold it all in. This is when the two of them start talking about what they've both been through, and this time it's up to Lapis to use her experience with similar trauma to help Steven heal. This, of course, happens in song.
