I know there are a fuck ton of got threads already up...

I know there are a fuck ton of got threads already up, but tell me I'm not alone in feeling crushed by how fucking shit this show has become. Season 2-3 looked like the show was on track to becoming one of the greatest shows ever and look at it now, it's reduced to absolute shit. I know Martin not only can't write, but can't write fast and it's partly his fault for being a fat retard, but holy fuck the steep decline just shows how terrible D&D really are at writing, producing and planning series. Fuck this shit.

Attached: images (19).jpg (738x416, 34K)

Seasons 1-3 are like an entirely different show, it's really fucking retarded that D&D's small brains couldn't figure out that they needed to extend the episodes per season rather than slowly creeping towards an ending until next fucking episode to finish it all. I swear a monkey could develop a better plan for this shit

Season 8 is the worst season so far. It is just impossible that they will effectively wrap it up in 4 episodes. For the first time ever, I actually feel insulted as a viewer every time I watch a newly released episode.

2 out of 6 episodes have been nothing but filler, and the delivery of the reunions and execution of important revelations was extremely underwhelming and filler-tier.

No need to mention the writing and directing, but I even feel like the actors have gotten worse this season. All the characters have become cocky and idiotic, not to mention uglier too. Some of the actors are still doing a brilliant job though, and understandably some of them only seem worse due to bad writing, but that goes to show good writing can carry untalented actors.

The worst part is no one I know IRL notices how bad it is. Everyone's just says "omg muh epic battle is starting! What do you mean GoT sucks now?" "I hope Daenerys gets the throne!" "funny little man made a penis joke!!"

I thought the same of the last 3 seasons, but it just gets worse and worse.

season 1-3 is tier 1 kino
season 4 i still good enough
season 5 is when we all got worried
season 6-8 OMEGALUL

if d&d are so terrible how did they manage to make early seasons?
inb4 it was all gurrm, no the books were abandoned pretty much since season 2

I got called an edge Lord and told I hate everything because I said on Facebook this show is trash. Normies love this shit. I only hope that everyone dies and the ending makes everyone super angry. Also if Little Finger comes back.

last episode was decent in any aspect, and the dialogues were as good as many early episodes of the first season

As someone who hasn't watched GoT, is it actually worth it, memes aside?

>the books were abandoned pretty much since season 2
What are you talking about, season 2 is a straight adaptation of A Clash of Kings, it doesn't even jumble the order much.

this right here is it

the dialogue alone is heinous now, it makes me wince and want to skip scenes

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-04-23 at 15.02.02.png (435x580, 378K)

yes for sure

Everyone seems to agree the show got worse when it moved away from the books, but somehow this doesn't stop them from fawning over the trash and get excited each time a episode nears, it's like fucking capeshit and nu Star Wars

Attached: 1554041169142.jpg (647x594, 71K)

it's like owning a pet, pretty amazing but modern medicine makes those last few years pretty sad

The only Stark kid who didn't get punished by puberty

My mom loves the last two seasons. Her favorite characters are Jon Snow and Ay Ya

Season 8 has been pretty good so far

I was really hoping they had the balls to make Danny the final villian of the series. If the give us a bitter Sweet ending where Jon has to kill Dragon bitch to save the kingdom from her madness---i think it will be worth it to piss of normies who love her.

Attached: nevergoingtospeak.png (345x185, 65K)

>excuse to chill with friends and be excited to watch something together

the show looks good visibly. The past few episodes have been the same shit. overall the show is far too confusing with too many characters. I feel like I'm watching a news cast of who and who is doing what or who dies.

I really wish this show would end so I don't have to hear about it anymore. Overall I just like chillen with my friends.

People would call it. "A modern day Romeo and Juliet".

They're all fat and/or old now.

all the female characters literally the same person now.

This. They literally all have the same personality

I remember reading that in the first Harry potter movies Rowling read the scripts and was like "you idiots actually left out this and that? you better don't, it becomes important later". So they didn't and some stuff paid off nicely.

Feels like Dabid didn't do that, and the last few seasons has been them trying to patch the plot with shitty writing to make up for what they left out

>"Men are weak"
>"A man would do this thing worse unlike us Kelly C"
>"Men are so easily manipulated with their cocks"
>"I am a badass sea captain who had to get rescued by my brother but I'm still a badass"
>"I burn your dad and brother you fat beardcunt"

>highschool friend on facebook named his daughter khaleesi

>"kill the night king and you kill the horde"
>"the night king is after me"
>put Bran in an isolated area as bait
>only defense is a cockless beta
Are people forgetting the night king has an undead dragon? He could literally fly circles around them and the range to his control of his army is nigh limitless, he doesn't need to do shit unless the shitty writing demands it. The wight walkers have to be the worst thing in GoT, so badly fleshed out and overhyped, unless they somehow pull a 180 plot twist, i don't see how they can salvage this show in 4 more episodes. At best Dany will get killed for being an obvious bitch and normalfags will be shocked.

It seems to me that leaders of nations should have a steady stable of first class prostitutes so they can't be manipulated by pussy.

Yeah, there are people who unironically only like stuff that's popular on Reddit. I wish good shit was more popular but if it often isn't.

Imagine letting your wife disrespect you like that

While the first four seasons were clearly superior i still feel like 5 and 6 still had enough quality to at least make them enjoyable. It wasn't until season 7 that i really felt the show really went to shit. It seems like the show went on a sharp decline the moment Daenerys arrived in Dragonstone and the writing has been abysmal since then

yea, it's like if something were missing idk like a book

What you're watching now is quite literally fanfiction.

Anyone who did not see this coming and is disappointed is an enormous retard.

Season 1-4 were great. Season 5 and 6 had plenty of good moments and dialogue, I just felt that the story decisions didn't particularly fit. Season 7 is meme tier, and season 8 will most likely be like that when finished with a decent enough ending.

Why doesn't tormund enter exposition mode about the wildlings massacred at hardholme

when was the last time something unexpected happened or a major character was killed off? The last seasons were basically just slowly catching up with what the viewer already had anticipated.

>Daenerys arrived in Dragonstone and the writing has been abysmal since then
This. Dany could actually be a little creepy when serious in the earlier parts of the show as she had emotion and it contrasted her personality of being joyful and wondering in relation to the new places she went and the people she saved. But now she is just resting bitch face and every interaction is the same dull and overly serious bullshit. It kinda worked with her meeting Tyrion, but seeing her do the same shtick with Jamie was just unbearable. Yes he slaughtered your father, but he saved an entire city from burning to a crisp. Let's have some fucking rational thinking over age old emotions for fuck sake.

"House Targaryen - All men are wrong"

Episode 2 was kino you fucking brainlet plebs

The writing is clearly suffering due to there not being any more source material to adapt from. This has also been said and discussed ad nauseum but as you say, the show has become such shit now that you can't repeat it enough times.

In the early seasons you had dialogue full of content, foreshadowing and relevant themes. Moments were the characters had actual character and you could see them interact with each other in a meaningful way, and grow. Like Varys' power riddle to Tyrion, Syrio Forel's lessons to Arya, Robb standing up to the Greatjon and quickly growing into a leader. Maester Aemon's speech to Jon Snow about love and responsibility, or Jaime's recounting of his kingslaying to Brienne.

All ripped from the books. As seasons pass you can notice how less and less of these worldbuilding dialogue they include, often starting to simplify these and watering them down to loss of effect (like how they condensed AFFC and ADWD into season 5 without any of Gurm's prose, just leaving the worst part of both books, the horrible pacing), until they straight up run out of good scenes to turn into script.

Now the scenes are "remember when you and I met previously hound, that was a good scene, how different we are now", "remember when littlefinger killed father and betrayed us, he was a cunning man, but now I am smarter", etc etc ad nauseum.

i have noticed porno models on the internet now have variations of the spelling of that as their name

>Season 2-3 looked like the show was on track to becoming one of the greatest shows ever

Show was also on pace to have ~15 seasons. It was never sustainable.

I honestly think they will do a decent ending, and we will get all these crying shocked salt videos. It will be so great. It's going to contribute the the end of the nerd zeitgeist.

Yeah dude.
I could not believe they wasted episode 2 the way they did. It was actually insulting.

If you don't think they're going to asspull some "happy" ending where everyone (except maybe Cersei) is happy then you're delusional.

>2 episodes buildup
>2 episodes fighting night king
>2 episodes stomping cersei giving the naughty characters their reddit approved comeuppins.

the only reason I still watch is because I have this dim hope that it will ACTUALLY be

>3 episodes fighting night king AND LOSING
>1 episode the undead marching on kings landing and the world going dark.

not gonna happen though.

Jesus Christ...the same faggots whop bitched about season seven with "hurr durr teleportation or what dude?!?!" are now complaining that things are too slow. The pieces are in place. Episode two was top five int eh entire series. Now, you'll complain when we get an hour long battle next episode that its "too much action, what about characterization?"

you still have to take into account that the remaining episode are 1:20 long, so more can be handled.

Extra time for more feminist rants and cucked men nodding in agreement.

Top five worst maybe. Honestly if they had just started this season with the white walkers at the gates of Winterfell it would have been a huge improvement. Literally a third of the season has been wasted on pointless filler

>using facebook

>The pieces are in place
Lousy chess metaphors don't cover the shitty pacing, sorry.

Imagine being so braindead you think seasons 3 and 4 were good.

I agree. That's why I moved on to the books. As should you.

so is that script that got leaked during season 7 that said what would happen in 8 get rewritten or what?

season 8 so far is great, season 6 was very good. So fuck off retard. EP 2 its one of the better episodes from this show.

Your taste is just shit. Episode 1 was decent, Episode 2 was fantastic, if you didnt find Episode 2 then you have really bad taste

>season 6 was very good
consider electric shock treatment if you actually believe this. only the first 3 seasons are good, with 4 being alright.

Attached: 1526019492203.jpg (500x531, 130K)

The books are shit, and GRRM is a hack.

>reading a book series that will never be completed

You dont know what fillet is right? You want fillet watch first 2 seasons, tons of filler there. Episode 1 and 2 has nothing to do with filler u retarded pleb, all main character interaction, and second episode is one of the best from the entire series.

This, I don't understand the controversy. Some of the dialogue and acting is garbage but its still pretty good overall

>EP 2 its one of the better episodes from this show.
Certain moments of reunion that we have waited a long time for aside, how? I think season 6 was a step up from 5, but please thoroughly explain the reasons behind your opinion, because it sure is in the minority. Not that it must be wrong by that logic, it's just interesting

This order directly follows the amount reserved for CGI budgets and/or lack thereof whereby D&D improvised, scrapped story lines and elements or straight up blew the budget on unnecessary crap.

In all fairness, season 4 was pretty fucking great with just Tyrions storyline alone.

The thing is that episode 2 was very well written and directed, if people cant even acknowledge basic facts like this then they can really fuck off with their *lack* of taste and good judgement.

4 was the best season

Seasons 1-4 are like reading the book, 5-8 are like reading the sparknotes

Why?

kino

>everyone arrives at winterfell because they need to be there for the plot
>even the hound admits he has no reason to be there
>everyone is forgiven because they need to be forgiven for the plot
>arya sex scene
>le 7-year-old brave gurl
>le 9-year-old strong gurl
>ser brienne of tarth

brabo dabid

MUH Season 7 people are teleporting and jumping from one location to another! Its so unfocused, its SHIT!

The same retarded brainlet people! MUH, first two episodes of season 8 are really too focused, spening time on characterization and conclusions to their long character arcs! Its shit! People are really brainlets on this board.

>points out things that are very subjective
>"facts"

Got has always been equally shit. The novelty wore off and some got bored. That's it.

Season 6 was better than season 5.
> Jon Snow's resurrection
> battle of the bastards
> hold the door
> khaleesi unites the dothraki with fire
Season 7 was indeed a disaster.

At this point sunken cost is in full effect. I do however, want to see what happens with Jon. He's been my dude from day 1.

S06 was turbo onions, only exception being bettle of bastards
S07 had some moments.
The final cut of s07e03 Jaime wandering through sacked highgarden was the only s7 kino, I recall but there was one at least.
s07e04 was nice too.
Season 8 is the weakest season by far. It's so weak it's laughable.

its not subjective unless u are brainlet with lack of good judgement and taste. People on this board are pretty stupid and capeshit focused so why im even suprised? This was perfect goodbye episode concluding several character arcs in respectful and meaningfull way. Not my problem that people here lack their own opinion and are bunch of contrarian sheeples?

wow I'm just getting into this series and already some of the shit in season 1 and 2 is making me wince.

you're telling me it gets worse?

Saeson 8 is going to show its worth in the next episode. If the rest of this show isn't nonstop deaths and destruction, the war we have been promised for 8 years, then it's shit. If the next epsidoe opens with Kings Landing and anything happens that isn't Night King doing a surprise attack then it's all going down the toilet.

>Jon Snow's resurrection
Everyone saw that happening ages before.
>battle of the bastards
I don't understand why people hype this to high heaven. It was retarded combat with idiotic strategies and 'epic' ninja fighting with a retarded deus ex machina in the end. Do people hype this because everyone else does too, or are people deep down thinking this is one of the best episodes there is?
>hold the door
Fucking retarded scene. Created for no other purpose than to make the whores at Burlington cry their eyes out. Served literally no story purposes.
>khaleesi unites the dothraki with fire
I don't even remember what this is.

Also it's quite telling that when people rate a season they're listing individual scenes of a 10 hour season. Nobody talks about cool storylines because there barely is any.

Hey, I'm all for criticism is due where it belongs, buit both battle of the bastards and hold the door was excellent moments in the show. Seriously theres more than enough shit from Season 5 and outward to shit on, but you chose the two things that was actually really good.

What was good about either of them?

>hold the door
ahahahaha yeah that was some retarded nonsense wassunit
wait
you're saying it as a positive for S6

> battle of the bastards
> hold the door
> khaleesi unites the dothraki with fire
hahaha
>doubles down on the pleb opinion
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

HEY EVERYONE HIDE IN THE CRYPTS ITS NOT LIKE THE NIGHT KING CAN RAISE THE DEAD OR ANYTHING

Battle of the bastards. Ramsey facing of against Jon, good hero vs good villain, on top of that his brother gets killed. The stakes, the powerplay and how it works on Jon despite all. The enforcing of relationships by having wildlings aid him in a personal battle. The cinematogrophy, the feelings of chaos in war they managed to create. The suffocation part, being buried in bodies.

Hold the door was just a moment that clicked into place, taking a long running gag and in an instant explaining it by a disturbing origin. I mean it's of course very subjective and it boils down to 'I like it' but for me, the concept of time travel, mind warping and trauma really is interesting and I felt they did it in a way that didn't explain to much depth. All in all, those two things felt very much like the tone of the earlier parts of the show.

The characterization is sloppy and all the reunions have been rushed and underwhelming. I liked character-driven segments of the show in the past but all of that shit has been terrible lately.

the hound stuff is doubly stupid because he could just say “i wanted to make sure sansa was ok” and that would be a sufficient explanation. instead they decide that he went to winterfell out of boredom

The battle of the bastards was absolutely retarded, I'm sorry mate
None of it made any sense whatsoever.

Tbh. Rickon's death scene especially. Then the vicegrip of Bolton army around the giants and sheit.
Hold the door and anything else he points out was turbo cringe.

perfect

The Battle of the Bastards was a low point in terms of the military side of the show, although season 7 comes close.
GRRM isn't great at depicting medieval warfare by any stretch, but he (and by extension seasons 1-4ish) had campaigns and battles won by people showing a good level of competence in command, and people being dumb usually got spanked.
For one Sansa doesn't think to tell Jon that she has a force arriving on the Bolton flank
Even before Rickon, having drawn the Boltons out into the field, Jon made no attempt to perform any manoeuvre that could have given an advantage and then decides to mong charge into the middle.
The whole surrounding with a pile of corpses thing is stupid as fuck
He gets bailed out, but for some reason everyone treats him like the second coming of Caesar or something. He fucked up far worse than Jaime did against Robb Stark and people were giving Jaime shit about that for ages after.

>Ramsey facing of against Jon, good hero vs good villain
This was trash. Ramsey stopped being a good villain when he only succeeded because the shitty script demanded he did. When he was some two bit thug torturing Theon he at least made sense.
> on top of that his brother gets killed.
The literally who that has gotten like 2 minutes of screen time the entire fucking series? It might have been impactful if he was an actual character.

>The cinematogrophy, the feelings of chaos in war they managed to create. The suffocation part, being buried in bodies.
The battle itself was a computer generated mess, but it at least started ... ok. The suffocation part you're referring to would have been fine if it wasn't shoehorned in there with no proper setup. Jon's forces just let themselves get encircled. It's retarded.

As for hold the door, I like time loop stuff as well, it's just the scene was executed terribly.

I guess I like it because fo the emotions it elicit from me rather than for any thoughtful tactics or intelligence behind the warfare. When I watch it, the cynical and analyzing part tends to shut off and I enjoy it on an emotional level, at least for such action moments. The dialogue on the other hand needs to have some thought put into it, as I have to understand where they're coming from and if they're behaving reasonably.

I still firmly believe that a person experiencing his own death as a child through a mental connection to the future, traumatizing him to only being able to utter a gibberish version of what he heard as he died (and also was crucial to the moment) is amazing.

>Served literally no story purposes.
It demonstrated how time works in GoT, and also hinted towards the cyclical nature of it.

Best friend of mine actually had the audacity to state that GoT was within the same domain of quality as LotR is. I always questioned his intelligence, but this is just absurd.

I can see where you're coming from, but it's due to the things that I mentioned that it didn't engage emotionally with me.

Battle of the Bastards in particular just frustrates me because they clearly put a lot of effort into it but not enough to make it look like an organic fight, instead things just happen because the script demands it. Jon's forces just stand there patiently while the pikemen get set up, which drives me up a wall and takes me out of it. If they really wanted it to mirror the battle of cannae they could have had Ramsey's middle be pushed back or deliberately yield ground while the flanks held fast, and Jon's forces would have gotten surrounded based on Jon's impetuousness. Then the pikes could have come out from Ramsey's second line or whatever. That would have actually showed some tact on ramsey's part and showed either jon's lack of situational awareness due to rage, or just his overall plan being foolhardy, much more efficiently than how it actually played out in the show.

I expect whatever big battle we have in this last season will be the same way. Really elaborate and impressive visually (barring any shitty CGI they use for the dragons/zombies) but let down in key areas that just makes characters look fucking dumb.

>season 1
>shit

rethink your standpoints

Episode 1 wasn't great but I thoroughly enjoyed Episode 2 as the calm before the storm. The show has undoubtedly gone to shit but both these episodes have been a damn sight better than the absolute garbage they've served up at times in the last three seasons.

>I guess I like it because fo the emotions it elicit from me rather than
That's what the common viewer feels and those are being catered to, and that is what makes the show so woefully bad compared to early stuff. It has slowly transformed into a gosh darn soap opera, and people such as yourself (ie. women, teenagers, normies) are who's to blame for the current shit quality for eating it all up.

I do understand the tragic element of the Hodor scene but all in all, it's nothing more than an obvious "wow" scene designed to make the audience gasp in horror and cry out loud. Any other 'shocking' moment in the show has actually had story related consequences, and the shock value has been there to enhance the delivery. It was plain and simple a tearjerker scene purposefully made so the masses can talk about it during their coffee breaks and had literally no other function.

Eh, no it didn't. It showed Bran can warp back and forth in time, which we had already seen before. There was absolutely no cyclical nature of anything hinted.

Season 6 was good 2bh

2 > 4 > 1 > 6 > 3 > 7 > 5

>There was absolutely no cyclical nature of anything hinted.
god ur dumb

to be fair the budget is probably the main character actors shilling hard for higher salaries, it happens in every show/film series as it gets huge, the salaries of the actors balloons

>for being a fat retard
kek you """""fans"""" still continue to amaze me, being earnest one second about your love for a series and then immediately whining about not getting what you want when you want it

Attached: got.jpg (481x289, 41K)

fucking weird isnt it how people in shit wagie jobs are happy to give these people up to 10x their salaries in exchange for an hour of kitsch shitty entertainment.

A lot of normie fans haven't even watched the original 3 seasons so they don't think about the show critically and are so wowed by its admittedly incredible production values that it has the verisimilitude of a well written and plotted show. GRRM is 60% responsible for this though

>quantity

Season 4 is better than Season 2

Attached: 0090.jpg (1252x1252, 240K)

>if d&d are so terrible how did they manage to make early seasons?
the pressure to deliver bigger, funnier and more mass oriented episodes grows with success
also
interpreting someone else's work is a completely different task then coming up with your own story.

it is not dumb and dumbers fault. they didn't sign up for this. they agreed on adapting books to television, not writing the story themselves with some vague notes from the fat fuck. if you need someone to blame it would probably be in this order
>hbo
for not putting filming on hold while the fat fuck writes the book / not hiring fat fuck to do the writing directly / not redirecting unnecessary dragon cgi to more writers when they decided they will milk the show instead of above mentioned options...
>fat fuck martin
for breaking the schedule and not finishing books
>actors
for getting greedy with their pay which ultimately forced hbo to rush the show to the end

This is the most bullshit assumption ever, I know tons of people that have watched the show and they all started from season 1. How could someone even just jump into s4? There are so many characters, it would be so hard to follow. Quit complaining about nonexistent normies

>cockless beta
>Azor Reek
you are retarded

Yep at the beginning you think there could be a fuckton of seasons, and as the seasons go by there is less and less intrigues

like what?

>episode two was top 5 in the series
Imagine having an opinion like this. You know, there's a forum for megabrainlets like yourself, maybe you've heard of it. They have a little alien man as their logo

it confirmed that he can actually affect the past not just see it

>the show looks good visibly
>black, grey, brown and white

It was already confirmed during tower of joy sequence.
