The first is the best, with the sequels being a mixed bag of fun / camp.
I'd rate them as 1 >3 > 2 > 4 > 5. 2 Tries to keep the dark, serious tone of the first but doesn't separate itself enough to be its own film. 3 is the height of camp and self aware over the top fun. If pushed I'd say 2 and 3 are almost on the same level, but I prefer 3 for the perfect blend of action, camp, and satisfying characters. 4 has a pretty solid twist in the story, but you can tell he's already way too old to be doing this stuff as a character, and I haven't seen 5 in quite some time. The series is definitely worth a watch.

Completely agree with this ranking, 3 is genuinely one of the most fun action films ever made and everyone I've shown it to loved it.
I don't get why critics hate these films so much (besides 5), they're all solid in their own ways.
