I gave it shot and it sucked.
The only part that seriously engaged me was robo-zombie raising young Hester.
Then it was back to CGI vidya fest.

start of the film in the museum has a Minion on a plinth and the characters think it must have been a god for people in the past. In the book it's mickey and Pluto.

My favourite part of the movie was when whypipo were bad guys and colorpipo were good guys. Really jogged my noggins.

Gotta love the new ending where London is saved by a strong, independent daughter who don't need no dad, instead of them blowing them selves up with the super weapon. Totally meshes with that core theme of human Hubris being their destruction, you know what I mean?

Also loved the retcon of Shrike being a crazy robot who got arrested by some policemen instead of cutting a deal with Valentine to allow London to make their own stalkers in return for him finding Hester

What the flying FUCK were they thinking with all the changes? In every single way they made the story worse

Without that change they would have been able to have the totally cool scene where valentine blows up his own prison though.

SkeleDad was good. They made him a flop by turning him off when he realised his daughter was in love. That's how they defeated him.

i only watcched it cause i love watching box office bombs. I obviously torrented it for free. It was really bad. You could feel the lazy attempt at a cash grab through the screen. Later down the road i suspected it might be a chinese movie but then i realized its Peter Jacksons project lol.

If the Mainland Chinese, with all that implies, had adapted this series it would have been interesting.
