These are terrible characters but they've always been. To me it's worse watching the strongest characters be destroyed by the producers terrible choices

I don't mind Sansa. Every second of Arya is torture.

They used to be kino but their developments fucked them over.

At first:

There's some interesting parallels on women blossoming on a world where men rule and how each decides to fight back.

Why are they so fucking smug? Brienne of Tarth is renowned as a pretty good fighter but she doesn't come across as a smug cunt. Arya always comes across as a smug bitch that knows death and can kick anyones ass 1v1. Sansa has done nothing but survive, she has literally not made a single wise decision since she's been in power (because she hasn't had an opportunity yet), but she acts like she's the smartest person in the room all the time. When exactly did these two become insufferable?

Yea these writers have never heard about character development. You can't just take a character and change her completely overnight with no explanation. Sansa went from getting manipulated (again) by Littlefinger to a badass confident woman who is thinking ten steps ahead of everyone else. There was hardly any in between, you need to watch them grow. They've done it with pretty much every character as well.
