Captain Marvel was a fighter pilot, a beautiful woman wouldn’t work. Why would they join the Airforce when life will be handed to them? Not believable. Emma Watson would've been an interesting choice. Certainly young enough to be with the franchise for a long run and there's bound to be some overlap for people who had a boner for her on later Potters and people who watch capeshit. Not quite sure if she'd pull the role off though.

Captain Marvel isn't a difficult role to pull off though and I think Watson would have played the role with a lot more warmth than Larson did. After all Emma is into the whole equality version of feminism rather than the screwed up "down with the patriarchy" version Larson is into so their interpretations on how to pull off the character of a strong, intelligent overpowered female would have been quite different.
