Zombie Trash

There has never been a good zombie movie or TV show
The two best are 28days later and Zonbieland but 28days gets shit at the end
And zonbieland gets shit when bill Murray comes on

Try and prove me wrong colonel, just try....

Sounds like you either haven't watched very many or are underaged. Mentioning zombieland at all is a good indicator that you're a redditor

>There has never been a good zombie
Of course. It's about fucking undead people.

The Return of the Living Dead is unironically kino as fuck.

Ok you absolute complete faggot

I watched all Night of the living deads in the 90s

While intersting as a political commentary they are empty as film making
The less said about the remake the better

All Asian zombie movies...which you've never seen...are again partial to the same problem of politics getting in the way of film making
I wont labor the point as continue to mention films you've never seen

The inherent problem is zombies as an enemy. They lack compelling reasons or development . You might as well get chased by a snowball. Its more entertaining than the zombie

They rely on the breakdown of civilization and its the same story as always

P.s yore a faggot

I mentioned zombieland because despite being a slight movie it understands the topic and filmatic history and uses that for comedic effect with good film making

Calling something reddit marks you out as a brainlet. Now reply you fuckwit

it was both genre parody and a serious horror film and I can't decide which part it did better

blocks your path

The Last of Us is sometimes dismissed as being "a movie, not a game"

If it's a movie, then it's a -good- zombie movie.

>tfw work at LAN center
>tfw Last of Us comes out
>tfw have to watch your daughter die multiple times a day

How can it be a movie if its a game?
Do you have brian damage friend?

Romero apparently hated the remake, because according to him it had nothing to say and "there was nothing going on underneath"
who would have thought the faggot that hadn't produced a good movie in 40 years because he kept letting politics getting in the way of his storytelling hated a movie that didn't shove political allegories in your face

kek agreed.

If you put together all of its (high quality) cutscenes, they add up to movie length, and some would argue the gameplay is too linear and has too many scripted moments to outweigh the movie-like qualities

Here's the reply you wanted so desperately, reddit

>redditspacing
>liking zombieland
fuck off, reddit

Its a game though

Two more brainlets with no reply and who havent seen the movies mentioned and who didnt study film at UCLA but instead watch spiderman and thor and come and post on a film forum

It's one of the most boring games I've played but that's probably because I've seen, read and played shitloads of apocalypse movies, books and games. The plot is as safe and basic as you can get. I liked Joel's insanity and the fungus zombies tough.

last train to busan was solid, I normally hate Asian films too, so it succeeded even with my bias.
Ash vs Army of Darkness technically falls under a zombie tag too, and it's great. The Thriller music video, Zombi 2.
There's plenty of zombie material that's really fun and solid. Get out there and explore the genre

RE: Apocalypse, which you posted, is an excellent cheesy fun action flick and one of the most rewatchable films of the 2000s

iZombie begs to differ
Fag

I would say you don't get zombie movies but you don't get movies in general.

>I liked Joel's insanity
Wait, Joel was insane?

the first 3 resident evil games are the only good zombie media in existence.

He's presented as a hugely deranged person. He can't let go of his daughters death and he's done some questionable shit to survive like being a highway man and murdering innocent people just to steal their stuff. He does questionable and animalistic things during the game too.

When he decides to save Ellie at the end there's a reason why people are calling him a madman and a lunatic because that's what he's doing, destroying a desperate and delicate operation to restore hope only because he wants to live out his insane fantasy of having a daughter again.

He's not a hero at all, he's just a mentally unstable person who has survived for far too long.

Night of the Creeps

>t. never watched Versus

I just thought it was a man in a place where most games put a hero. Was surprised everyone made such a big deal about Ellie and her performance etc as Joel's sort of anti-character arc was honestly the only interesting thing narratively. A good game but weird seeing people pretend it's some piece of greatness, maybe that's just because of the old Sony exclusive shit.

>he hasn't seen Les Affames

What a big fat bitch lmao

>actually paying to study film
>at UCLA
>talking shit about some strangers online
Holy fucking lmao

I'm just as /teamMilla/ as the rest of Yea Forums but that's simply not true youtu.be/qFhs5LCNTFY

>Zombieland

Shit b8

The game brings up the issue many times during the story. Joel's brother despises him, the bandits and other people are starting to tell stories about a psychopath going around killing people and the events at the end are the last straw that complete Joel's arc. He's become a full circle but for what cost? That's why I liked him, he's a nice character whose redemption arc is very ambiguous and questionable.

>Not mentioning Return of the Living Dead, the GOAT of zombie movies.

You sound like a fuckin' retard

Not implying that he's not deranged or anything like that, just that I thought him being like that was the most normal reaction anyone could have, which felt real.

Was never a fan of blonde Jill in any of the media.

Yeah, that's a good point. The game raises up the question of what's good anymore in a world full of evil very well. Joel tries to be good but is still one of the most dangerous and evil people around while trying to achieve it.

When Joel saves Ellie he isn't simply "fulfilling his insane fantasy of having a daughter again", they develop a relationship over the course of the game and Ellie genuinely cares for Joel too. She had also saved his life, multiple times.

There are also questions about to what degree Joel really doomed humanity by saving Ellie.
We don't know with any certainty whether the Fireflies' efforts to develop the vaccine would have been successful.
Even if they successfully got the vaccine, would they have been able to distribute it at the necessary scale? They're considered a fringe terrorist group.

such a perfect cast, holy shit
the most beautiful action tough girl character ever put to film

What about Zombie Diaries? It was a really good British indie film from 2006 (by far the best independent film I have seen to date. Nothing else has come close).

Attached: The-Zombie-Diaries-2006.jpg (520x745, 72K)

most zombie movies are garbage because they make the protag le chosen one and their mission is to save the planet and kill all zombies or some other retarded garbage
the problem is there's so much you can do with a survival movie about zombies, you either make the movie solely about zombie escaping and survival and it becomes boring or you make it only the backdrop, in which case what's the point
watch The Road

>When Joel saves Ellie he isn't simply "fulfilling his insane fantasy of having a daughter again", they develop a relationship over the course of the game and Ellie genuinely cares for Joel too. She had also saved his life, multiple times.

That's because we know what happens. To any other perspective what Joel does at the end is insanity, an impulsive reaction sparked by his own previous traumas. You could argue that the Fireflies are just as evil and good as Joel is but their goal is a lot better than Joel's in the long run.

They're probably gonna ruin the ending and Joel's character with part 2 though by making Ellie more useful towards a cure because she was saved and not toyed with.

What politics

Zombi 2 by Lucio Fulci was incredible. Actually memorable soundtrack(seriously the main theme is so fucking good youtube.com/watch?v=ZrrwonL5UVU), set in the Caribbeans, includes the voodoo aspect involved in the original zombie myth instead of just making it a disease and having overall an almost overwhelmingly bleak tone. It's my personal favorite

i enjoyed this

Night - Dawn - Day of the Dead (Day being the best)
28 Days Later (Weeks is shit)
Zombieland
First Resident Evil is decent
The Crazies original and remake
Dawn of the Dead remake

These too.

Romero didn't hate it, he just didn't like it very much. That said, he loved the first half or so, specifically the opening and initial 20 minutes. Exact quote per dreidelpedia.
>"It was better than I expected. ... The first 15, 20 minutes were terrific, but it sort of lost its reason for being. It was more of a video game. I'm not terrified of things running at me; it's like Space Invaders. There was nothing going on underneath."

>zonbieland
Haven't laughed this hard in a week.

>Night - Dawn - Day of the Dead (Day being the best)
Day of the Dead was my favorite too. I don't know why most people prefer Dawn of the Dead.

this and santa clarita diet

Probably set variation. To me Day is aesthetic as fuck but I can understand why it might get dull to some people. Dawn you go from radio stations, suburbia, countrysides, mall, surroundings, etc., while Day is just a bunker and a field. And an island in the last 15 seconds.

I couldnt agree more especially on both your points about zombieland and 28 days later

RE: Apocalypse is fun, fuck you.

I like how 28 Days Later gets the credit for fast zombies that Return of the Living Dead made long before.
