2 HOURS 38 MINUTES, NIGGA? Are you fucking kidding me? I could have cut out an entire fucking hour out. Most of the scenes you could cut weren't even that interesting. This movie sucked so much compared to Cell Block 99. For no other reason then it was WAY too fucking long.
I was excited for it to be racist but it wasn't even racist. The only thing racist in it is that Mel's neighborhood is being ruined by blacks so so his family needs to move. Vince Vaughn is engaged to some nappy headed mulatto.
Go watch Captain Marvel or Transformers. Might be more your style of movie.
DAC is a fantastic slow burner that takes its time to build atmosphere and tension.

7/10. They are from different generations and that is well exposed, but they don't go much deeper than showing in two scenes why they end up doing a robbery. The rest is tension until the showdown.

S. Craig Zahler is a hack. Bone Tomahawk kept getting recommended to me so I rented it. Turned it off after 15 minutes due to atrocious acting, dialogue, and staging.

I just think he likes different perspectives in his films but i agree that some of the conversations are too on the nose. He could have incorporated those conversations in a better way, it felt clunky within the film at some places.

That is a really good way of putting it. And the movie really is way too long. The scene where the black kid is talking about wanting to work on video games had me looking my phone. Pointless scene. He has a family, we get it, we don't need to see fucking 30 minutes of it.
