Didn't scorcese ade a movie about jesuit priests that traveled to japan and got killed a while ago?
Xavier Carter
There's already a movie about that.
You also don't give a flying fuck about portuguese people so stop using them to further your autistic propaganda, you amerimutt
Henry Perez
If they did the story of that irish samurai guy that was the inspiration to Nioh, the liberals would be seething hard. Tom Cruise should have done that history instead of the Last Samurai.
Benjamin Nguyen
Implying they will not make him the real father of the emperor or shogun or something like that to cuck the imperial line.
Ryder Morris
>Almost zero historical information about the guy >Only a few POSSIBLE depictions of him in art, none confirmed >No one even knows how he died or what happened to him
>LET'S MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT HIM BECAUSE HE'S BLACK
They are literally scouring the history books trying to find any black people to make movies about.
Which means they're just gonna make a bunch of shit up to revise history so blacks can "WE SAMURAI NOW" and throw their fists up in the air during the screening.
It's cultural appropriation ONLY when whites do it. The rules are never evenly applied.
Michael Moore
Why can't we just get an Afro Samurai movie instead? Black people don't care about actual history considering Black Panther is their zenith of cultural relevancy
>When Yasuke was presented to Nobunaga he suspected his skin to be have been coloured with black ink, Nobunaga had him strip from the waist up and made him scrub his skin.
>Nobunaga's nephew gave him a sum of money at this first meeting.
Translation: they were amused by his blackness, so they gave him free money.
>When Yasuke was presented to Akechi, the warlord allegedly said that the black man was an animal as well as not Japanese and should thus not be killed, but taken to the Christian church in Kyoto
Translation: GTFO and go be a problem for the Christians!
John Smith
Hope they'll develop his bromance with Nobunaga like in Nioh.
Caleb Allen
> Black Panther is their zenith of cultural relevancy
Uh, arent you forgetting all of modern entertainment?
Elijah Long
this is white genocide, help me /pol/
Jeremiah Sanders
Did video games lie to me? They said that Akeshi Samanosuke is the hero and Oda Nobunaga is the demon lord!
Jose Gutierrez
>showed up working for some Italian, nobody knows what ethnicity he was >Japs didn't know jack shit about him, almost everything we know comes from Christian missionaries, never cared to learn his actual name >kept around Nobunaga as a plaything, often mocked for his odd appearance >Japs care so little about him they won't even kill him, just send him to die with missionaries I honestly feel bad for Yasuke
Eli Cook
>Why owning a katana is the hip new trend among urban youths
all the roasties now talk about guys owning katanas and weeb shit like its the newest panty dropper
Jayden Parker
>At some point, although when is not clear, Yasuke entered Nobunaga's service. >Yasuke was mentioned in the prototype of Shinchōkōki owned by Sonkeikaku Bunko (尊経閣文庫), the archives of the Maeda clan. According to this, the black man named Yasuke (弥助) was given his own residence and a short, ceremonial katana by Nobunaga. Nobunaga also assigned him the duty of weapon bearer.
They literally don't believe their eyes when they see him, somehow he learns to speak Japanese, becomes buddy with Nobunaga, given his own estate and honorary titles. Accompanies Nobunaga into big battles. When Nobunaga is forced to commit suicide, he helps his son, is later captured and then sent to the christians in Kyoto, where records of him end(either he went back to Europe or stayed in Japan, nobody knows).
I don't know, sounds like a fun and engaging movie to me. I just hope they don't skimp with the whole order him washed to get the soot out of his skin, but I bet movie-makers will think its too racist.
Asher Flores
Pretty sure that username is only there for progressive liberals so they can understand the situation.
Nathan Gomez
Can't pander to racist Europhobes with that, especially Nobunaga.
Alexander Cruz
Have sex
Jack Flores
We already have an anime adaptation of Yasuke though.
Literally crying that you can't make yet another white samurai movie.
Nathan Perez
if you look at the list of upcoming historical films it's like 50% stuff for women, romances, and 50% agenda-driven films about historical oddities like this. the days of historical epics are over, at least for awhile
Lucas Sullivan
He is pretty superior if he managed to become a samurai
Josiah Bell
whatever makes you feel better about literally worshiping blacks, I guess
Nicholas White
He was given it because Nobunaga was fascinated by his blackness. There are exactly zero historical records that said he tore shit up and was this super-samurai that served well
Xavier Robinson
There's no evidence for the opposite either.
James Wright
All historical records point to him being a toy nobody gave a shit about
Landon Johnson
>He was given it because Nobunaga was fascinated by his blackness Is this supposed to make the black samurai look bad?
Julian Green
So you'll take it as free license to make shit up.
Well Nobunaga lost that battle, so apparently black samurai wasn't any sort of savior
Carter Mitchell
It's a Hollywood movie, historical accuracy was never on the table to begin with.
Charles Bell

It'll have a soundtrack produced by RZA with tracks from Beyonce, Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, and featuring a poem read written by Harriet Tubman and read by Obama.
>another generation of retards who pronounce it "YA-SOO-KAY" Oh no
Michael Morgan
He is documented to have at least been present during some skirmishes for what it's worth.
Gabriel White
He was as same was those blacks in european monarch and noble courts, used just as pets or funny things to look at, as same as dwarfs or fat women and other disabled
Brandon Martin
>So you'll take it as free license to make shit up. Did you suffer from a stroke during your childhood? This is how fiction works.
Josiah Walker
may as well name it hollywog at this point
rather than trying to uplift subhumans, they should try making decent movies.
Anthony Williams
Honestly, I hope the whole thing is Japs treating him like an animal but then he proves them wrong by displaying his loyalty and courage. If they want to have him rescue Nobunaga's son, that's cool too.
Jack Ross
they can't pervert and adoctrinate whites anymore so they go for the blacks. then for the spics and so on.

>hero. legend He didn't do much though, he was a bodyward, and as far as I know he never fought in actual battle or even defended Nobunaga from any threat
>Lord Oda Nobunaga had a great interest in European culture; he extended his protection to the Jesuits and helped them build a church in Kyoto. He played an extremely important role in paving the way for the total unification of Japan and by the time of his death, nearly half the country’s provinces were under his control.
>When Yasuke was first presented to Nobunaga, he was described as a tall young man whose “strength surpassed that of ten men” and who stood more than six feet tall (a height at which he would have towered above most Japanese men at the time).
>Nobunaga then brought the former slave into his service, granting him a sum of money, a house, and a katana. From that point on, Yasuke remained an important member of the daimyō’s retinue, loyally serving him as an honored samurai. He had gone from being a piece of Portuguese property to a member of the Japanese elite.
>Nobunaga’s story came to an abrupt end in 1582 when he was betrayed by Akechi Mitsuhide, one of his associates. Yasuke reportedly fought bravely during the final confrontation, helping to defend his master’s castle from Mitsuhide’s forces.
>Ultimately, when a wounded Nobunaga saw that there was no escape, he committed seppuku rather than face surrender and dishonor.
>Yasuke battled on long after all was lost, before finally handing over his sword to the enemy’s men. Because he was not Japanese, he was spared death and sent back to the Jesuits, with whom he supposedly spent the rest of his days after making his mark on history.
Last Samurai wasn’t even a true story and nobody complained about a white dude being one of the last samurai, nor should they have. /pol/ is blisteringly simple
Now The Walking Dead will have sense so Michionne has access to a full working katana from her boyfriend during the zombie break.
Jason Johnson
> proves them wrong by displaying his loyalty and courage Haha, yeah right. Because modern blacks will surely enjoy such a movie.
Nicholas Flores
They won't. Nobunaga is too problematic and the audience won't have ever heard of him anyway. He will be written out of the story and replaced with a fictional, unnamed shogun.
Dylan Miller
>Yasuke’s career as a samurai would not last long. In 1582, Nobunaga’s general, Mitsuhide, started a coup to overthrow him. Mitsuhide stormed the temple where Nobunaga was staying in Kyoto. Nobunaga, convinced of his imminent defeat at the hands of his treacherous general, committed Seppuku, ritual suicide. After Nobunaga’s death, Yasuke fled to back to the Azuchi castle and entered the service of his son Odo Nobutada. His son however also committed suicide after suffering defeat at the hands of Mitsuhide.
>Mitsuhide was not very impressed with Yasuke and dismissed him as “a beast” and not a true samurai. The reason for this was that rather than committing honor suicide, the norm after defeat in Japanese culture, Yasuke apparently offered his sword to Mitsuhide following Western custom. It was undoubtedly because of this rejection that Yasuke returned to the service of Valignano and soon returned to obscurity. The Jesuits, however, were glad to see that he had survived and thanked God for his return.
>There is a Japanese proverb which says “For a Samurai to be brave, he must have a bit of black blood.”

How is he problematic? He sounds firward thinking and open, in a society which was closed.

>>There is a Japanese proverb which says “For a Samurai to be brave, he must have a bit of black blood.” Sauce?
Daniel Bennett
Literally kino story, dunno why some parts don't have audio tho
Zachary Bennett
There are various theories. As Nobunaga grew, he said, "The Emperor is unnecessary." Akechi considered this to be destructive for Japan and tried to remove him.
Or, because Akechi got along well with the nobles of Kyoto, he was always fooled by Nobunaga.
Wyatt Kelly
Nobunaga was a Westaboo
Brandon Jackson
Will Kojima has the same fate as Nobunaga then? Konami headquarters got alredy burn but he wasn't there at the moment it happend.
Jeremiah Parker
>skin being black as charcoal is a major "plot point" for his impact on the Japanese
They will still fuck up and cast some mixed Hollywood black actor man who is not even darker than the average Okinawan, I bet
Christopher Clark
It is thought that because music that is famous in videos is used, uploading is illegal unless it is deleted.
Carson Johnson
Damm it was during some dialogue parts, shame
Joshua Bell

Sounds like the last samurai which is a personal fav, hope they don't fuck up the casting
