It’s early 2013. You are Kathleen Kennedy. You need to hire a screenwriter and a director for Episode 7,8 and 9. Who would you chose and why?

No one, because I don't want to make movies for infantile manchildren to post threads about on an 18+ imageboard site that they don't belong on.
Dave Filoni. He wrote TCW with a George Lucas and was basically the creative heir of all things Star Wars.Get Michael Arndt like they were originally going to get and have them write the scripts together.
George Lucas
Maybe get someone else like Taylor Sheridan to help co-write some less cringey dialog.
7: Damien Chazelle
8: David Lynch
9: M Night Shyamalan
Joe Swanberg
Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer
fpbp
Wes Anderson
myself
Neil Gaiman
MESSATSU
she chose... poorly
I would just hire the guys who worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
If i was completely and absolutely obligated to do so, alex garland. Hes good at approaching sci fi from an inquisitive point of view and could welcome some heady themes to the dynamics in star wars apart from being "good guy fights bad guy"
these guys? agreed
Story of what's going on in that pic?
George Lucas for story concept
Simon Pegg for the script
Ron Howard to direct
Screenwriter - Dave Filoni
Director - Mel Gibson
Search your feelings, you know it to he true.
This. As for a director, JJ was a pretty good choice, I think. He just needs to leave the writing to people who are actually creative.
I wouldn't object to this. However, that'd be a big change for Star Wars wouldn't it? Some actual heady sc-fi themes. Most people would hate this.
A story group of diverse (mostly white) women and a token gay man who aren't fans, and can't get past their own self-absorbed worldview to think about what would work in a galaxy far far away.
That'll work, right?
That's actually pretty good. Star Trek Beyond was the only one of the new films that felt like Star Trek and was probably the best since The Undiscovered Country.
You know what? Probably better than the current mess we are in
jj mismanaged the star wars property so terribly that george vomited into his salad
Lynch already said no to star wars tho
Because he said it was George's vision. With George gone, given Lynch full creative control.
Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio for all 3
Filoni easily

This man. GIVE ME DUNE.
I would probably hire George Lucas and Timothy Zahn to write a fresh script together and the Cohen Brothers or James Gun to direct it desu. Sounds crazy but I think it would work.
George Lucas should obviously be included since the whole thing was his idea, so his general plot direction should probably be included. The EU has also been a part of what kept Star Wars lore alive before all the bad content was produced, so I think that should also be considered, and Timothy Zahn wrote a lot of that lore about the future of Star Wars. To combine the two would have pointed the franchise in its inevitable direction. As for directors that spirit of family and friendship, which I think is the core of Star Wars, Jame Gun (love him or hate him) did sort of pull that off in GOTG but I've always wanted to see what the Cohen Brothers would be able to do with a sci-fi script. They are obviously talented as hell, have a great eye for detail and methodically work over their films.
Ep 7: Peter Jackson
Ep 8: Nolan
Ep 9: Cuaron
The Kino trilogy.
Throw in George Miller screenwriter so KK can have her muh female empowerment moment.
George Lucas because it's literally not Star Wars without his involvement.
Exactly. George could have some input but I wouldn’t want him with complete control.
Either jackson or del Toro if i was forced. If im not, the correct answer is rape and murder kennedy and serve life knowing that i had saved the world
