It insists upon itself. It takes forever getting in, you spend like six and a half hours... You know, I can't get through, I've never even finished the movie. I've never seen the ending. I have tried on three separate occasions to get through it, and I get to the scene where all the guys are sitting around on the easy chairs.

I liked a lot of things in this movie but don't understand why it is revered as a great or even classic film. Was it a trail blazer when it first came out, did it do something that hadn't been done before? The moment the Irish cop shoots Vincennes (Spacey) we know he's the villain so the rest of the movie we're just waiting for the pieces to fall for the other characters.

This is one of my favourite movies but I still don't understand how did the negroes escape the prison and moreover why did they hide in the exact same place they told the police they bought drugs?

I was under the impression they were let go and they went to their drug dealers because they weren’t overly bright.
It’s slightly more interesting on rewatch, you noticed some interesting things you didn’t the first time around.

I don't get why they were let go. First off they were being framed for the shooting so the Irish guy should be holding them close to his chest, second they admitted to rape and the woman was found tied up so that's further reason not to let them go.

Saw this for the first time, recently. An absolute fucking drudge.

Solid 8.5/10 or even 9/10, not the spiritual revelation people claim it to be.
The same for Taxi Driver.

Saying classics and popular movies are overrated is just so original. Nothing will ever be more overrated than three hour Bollywood movies with 8.5 or more on imdb. I've tried watching a few, but I just can't make it all the way through because of how overlong and obnoxious they are. Not to mention those fucking song numbers.
