Why didn't Ein get his own backstory episode? Seemed like they established enough character in him at the start but don't really explore the whole lab enhanced data dog (whatever that means) prototype thing further down the line, other than him doing kind of smart things every now and then

Andy's hands down. I love characters that just throw the character norm/hierarchy out of place. Spike is usually calm and smooth but he just loses it because Andy is a complete ass.
Also the reason I like Paker from the office, Jim is usually the cool guy Michal is trying to impress while Jim is tormenting Dwight. When Paker is on screne Jim becomes the butt of the jokes and micheal get chummy with Paker.
It's amazing how much a douche side character can freshen up a set

Honestly this is such a fucking Kino anime. The English dub is GOAT too, the only dub I can stomach other than DBZ.

Cowboy Bebop is entry level anime, there's so many more anime series and Western series better than this.
Aria is a better anime, the sopranos a better tv show.

I liked Gurren Lagann and FMA more than Bebop and feel that both are more rewatchable.I think Japan likes Evangelion more than any other anime ever so it's probably a 'better' (ie: more critically acclaimed/popular) series as well.

There are dozens of non-anime shows better than Bebop as well.

Outlaw Star is my favorite anime of all time but I don't think it's actually better than Bebop. And I enjoy OS so much it legitimately might be the last thing I ask to watch if I know I only have a few weeks to live or something. It holds that special of a place in my heart.

FMA is not better than Bebop. And I am someone who enjoys FMA. But it is closer to your normal run of the mill animes. To me Cowboy Bebop kind of transcends anime, which is why maybe so many normies can get into it. Kind of like studio ghibli stuff.

Bebop is like the last remnant of really cool 80's anime sci-fi, even if it was made in the 90s. It basically marks the end of an era of Anime.

Vampire hunter D bloodlust (which came out in 2001) is probably the very last real science fiction anime that takes itself seriously. And it's all style over substance. Complete fucking beautiful style, but zero substance.

Steins;Gate was the first anime I ever watched back in my early 40s and yeah it made me tear up a bit too.

Spike was objectively the worst part of Cowboy Bebop. All episodes focused on him and his past were a drag that made him into a really uninteresting character.
Jet's episodes on the other hand were pretty good, the one with his former partner in particular was great.
The best episode was probably the one with the Space Shuttle though.
