I can't decide what to go for:
>$475 for a TCL 65" 4-Series
or
>$540 for a TCL 55" 6-Series
I do like the bigger screen size, but according to rtings the 6-series outperforms the 4-series. rtings.com

>not a samsung
What's so good about Samsung? All their TVs are way more expensive with not necessarily the better picture quality
I've got a 4-Series 65" and I like it a lot. The only problem I've had with it is that the first one I bought started making a constant whirring noise within a couple weeks. TCL replaced it and sent a guy out to install it for free. No problems since.
they're not that expensive, personally I like em because they have netflix, youtube and plex built in
How does it compare in a dark room? I has much lower HDR/SDR brightness and no local dimming compared to the 6-series.
Get a Sharp or a Toshiba.
TCL and Samsung suck and Sony is over expensive.
Get HiSense, they got really good recently.
>HiSense
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
The price of a Samsung that would be better than the 6 series tcl is a lot more expensive
Don't listen to this fool here In fact don't listen to anybody on this shit board including myself
You're already on ratings and I would go for the 6 series
Just save up your money and build a theater room user
RTings not ratings
Also new TV's are coming out soon so I would actually wait
TCL 55R617
>not getting a foldable TV
It's the future my friend
explain
Thanks user. How do I know when the new ones are coming out? Does that mean the 2018 models will go on sale even further?
Literally no point in waiting for a new tv. Dude is looking at $500 range so he’s obviously not after top of the line shit. An older model will do him fine.
I passed on the TCL due to lots of reports of bad screens. So I got: VIZIO 65” Class 4K Ultra HD (2160P) HDR Smart LED TV (D65x-G4).
Really like it. The bigger size is a must if you use your tv as a monitor.
Oh, it's $549
>OLED
yikes
>65 inch
>as a monitor
wanna fold that gook
>not seeing 65 inch memes
Under $1000
TCL R615/617 or Vizio P-Series.
That's the two best tvs you can get sub 1k.
>2019
>being a TVlet
What is wrong with OLED?
this but I would just save my money and buy a TV above $1000 because you might as well, since you're paying $500 already
imagine falling for the projector meme
>Roku
OH NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
Buy a Sasmung TV with QLED and make sure it can runs more than 60hz.
Get a LG
It’s really fucking convenient. Shit streams over WiFi, no cables.
Then go for it.
Don't trust Rtings. They're confirmed mongs who don't know what they're talking about. And their calibrations suck.
Do all new TV's have internet integrated into them?
user I don't have the disposable income right now, $500 is stretching it for me already.
you'll find out soon
yea
The cheapest QLED costs like $600. If you can't afford it right now just finance it and pay it off next month. A QLED TV will be better for long term than some random no name TV.
>financing a tv
don't do this, please
You better nail that tv to the wall real good if you end up splurging a thousand on it. It frighting to realize that you could lose all your possession in flash from robbery, fire, flood, explosion, tornado, earthquake and hurricane.
Where do you see QLEDs worth $600 >=55"?
>interest rate almost 1%
>can't afford to pay $300 next month
yea just stick to that no name brand TV and have it replaced next year
I got a 50' 4k sammy on sale on black friday for 350$. Shit's cash as fuck because I was using a 720p TV for like a gajilion years.
>financing anything other than a car or home
>buying a new tv every year
black person, please go back to worldstarhiphop
I financed a $3500 mattress and my back issues are gone and I sleep much better
>sammy
>cash as fuck
>gajilion
kill yourself gay cunt
>being so poor you have to finance a 3k purchase
yikes
A hammock would have solved all your issues for half the $3000.
>only nigger finance things
I bet you have never financed anything in your entire life since you are NEET with no income and no credit score. When you are about to buy an electronic never go for the cheapest option. Always by something with decent resale value and high quality(Samsung, LG, Sony). If OP has $300 right now, he can finance a high quality tv like a Samsung QLED for $600-700, and from his next paycheck take $300-400 and pay off the financing plan of the TV. There is literally NO fucking reason not to finance electronics with the current interest rates that are almost less than 1%. There is a reason why these 4k TV are cheap af. At least a more expensive and brand name TV will last +3 years and have decent resale value.
>cavemen sleeped in hammocks and not on the ground
yeah ok there capernicus
>a $3500 mattress
Never go full retard user.
>resale value
>tv
Any tv will depreciate like ass.
stay mad neet
>>cavemen sleeped
Sure, but what will depreciate more? A brand tv like Samsung/LG or some random chink tv like TLC/Hisense?
I recently bought an Insignia, haven't had any issue so far
Again OP here, I can't find a single Samsung QLED at 55 inches or higher around $600.
not my jewel encrusted golden plasma scree tv.
I was just at Costco today and they have the 50” TCL for like $280. It’s crazy. I’d def go for the bigger one but I never heard of the brand or looked at reviews for them.
The picture quality on my 55 6-series is incredible, but that fucker crashes at least twice a month. Only on streaming channels, not on vidya, which I can't figure out.
>neet
mad at what? zoomers talking in their bizarre pidgin of teen girl and nigger?
COPE NEET
Im still using my panasonic viera from 2005
113225399
>COPE NEET
Nigger
Are you able to browse youtube on your phone and stream it on the TV? If so I need to buy a new TV because I'm tired of always getting up and having to change video on my desktop browser
>panasonic viera from 2005
>browsing Yea Forums for at least 14 years
Dude, fix your life
Yeah if they're on the same network and that TV has the youtube app. I think you can do the same with the Chromecast dongle but I've never actually used it.
Anything below $1000 is worthless junk. If you think spending an extra $200-300 will somehow improve your viewing experience you're full on pants retarded. I'd rather you save up and buy yourself an OLED, but that's at a much higher price range so if I was you OP, I'd buy the shitty 65" for less than $500 and not worry about anything these scrubs are telling you. Buy yourself a nice TV when you can finance it or have enough money.
yea most new TVs allow that as long as your phone and the TV are connected to the same network
Based
Refurbished 43" HDTV for $120 at Walmart. Much better deal.
>mfw not knowing how credit works
TCL is the cheapest true HDR 4K set
Click the little TV button and it sends whatever video you’re watching to the TV. Shit is cash.
dafuq? I thought /tv were connoisseurs of cinema, why is nobody watching their kino on a $300 projector?
>Samshit
Their TVs aren't even good. At least they're finally beginning test production of OLEDs this year, so they should be able to stop pretending that LCD is still good by 2020.
>shilling OLED
Haha this fucking guy
well you though wrong ninja the twitch streamer.
This. Its QLED or nothing.
Reminder this thread is full of people rationalizing their purchase by shitting on cheaper TVs.
t. owner of a $75 1080p smart vizio off Facebook marketplace
Don't have the room. Would love too though
Best buy has a returned TV section and they are usually discounted, they also have decent financing options.
The future is getting a brain implant that streams the images to your consciousness.
>TCL
>ever buying cheap chink shit
I remember when 1080p 50 inch lcds cost $3,000
Fucking based. Samsung bros rise up!
>owner of a $75 1080p smart vizio off Facebook marketplace
>facebook marketplace
>facebook
Do you want me to tell how I know that you are a fucking boomer?
The price difference between a TCL with true HDR and other chink shit with true HDR is a lot. Just because a TV says it has HDR doesn't mean it's true HDR. TCL has a true HDR model for like $500-600
I'm 22
for me it's 65" feet
>22
>uses facebook
yikes
Only have family on there. made it this year cause my brother had a kid. Might as well use the marketplace. What do people my age normally use cause i don't have any friends
First time in the thread, but old sharps were better than old Samsung LCD tvs.
Hisense used to be massively overlooked or left out of discussions. Everyone online would discuss other tv makers but nobody would mention hisense.
cringe zoomer making excuses
why do you think people return those screens? LMAO
Legit what's the new social media app tho. I know I'm cringe.
Low luminosity ceiling, burn in.
you're here forever kiddo.
>Hisense
>buying a TV from a company that is owned by the Chinese communist party
Why don't you also go to your local Chinese embassy and donate money for the CCP and kiss Mao's picture in front of the Chinese ambassador??
>samcucks rise up
frodo should've thrown you into mt. doom
>Shit is cash
Nigger
kill yourself dumb fuck zoomer
tiananmen square massacre 1989
>People pay extra for lower quality, but bigger TVs instead of just moving their couch closer to the TV for the exact same effect
Why are brainlets like this?
>i don't have any friends
you'll fit right in
>they also have decent financing options.
Americans even buy TVs on credit? What the fuck is wrong with you? Why are Americans addicted to spending money they don't have?
They're poor.
I have the money though. Just not right now. Over the course of a year I'll have it, so why wait a year before I can buy a nice TV?
eurotards every1
Euros are so goddamn annoying and i wish they'd leave the internet.
Article 13 will save us
nice dubs and I'm looking forward to the internet before it became cancer
I literally purchase everything on credit, and my credit score to this day is 800. All it takes is not going overboard and paying your dues, that's it. I spend obscene amounts on booze, but I'm still doing fine.
There is nothing wrong with it, and it isn't rocket science. Thanks for the input Adam Smith.
>tv's with apps that need software updates
science has gone too far
Whats wrong with panasonic?
tcl > samsung tbqh
If you're not going to spend $5k on a television don't spend over $300.
Samsung is the shittest consumer electronics company in the history of the industry you faggot.
>I have the money
>Just not right now
we now also have fridges with cameras you can check outside at the grocery store, you dumb boomer
mfw any pleb uses a connected tv where their privacy is unironically violated and everything they do and watch is monetized and sold to 3rd parties instead of watching on a monitor

have fun with that OLED burn-in within a year
Actually we have them in our homes and we can see inside without opening the door. Retarded child.
Only retarded poorfags who can't afford an OLED ever say this. I've had an LG OLED since 2016 and it doesn't have any burn-in whatsoever, despite being used extensively for gaming, TV and movies. Have fun with your garbage black levels and motion blur, LCDlet.
