Who says I can't enjoy a show just because I'm not watching every second of it gramps? I have ears. I usually combine it with playing casual games that I can pause or look away at any time in case a specifically visual part is coming up. Especially sitcoms are perfect to not literally watch, you know all the characters and locations anyway. I don't think it adds anything to actually watch the shot-reverse-shot dialogue of 2 people.
