this. Mosaic law=/= judaism. Even though it gets portrayed as such. Judaism came after the temple destruction and thus after christianity.
the bible also has several translations and apocrypha of stories not entered into the canon, because of how rare it was for people to know the stories at the time of the 66books, or because the stories circumvented the babylonian mystery aspect of the catholic church, that being triune gods, and sun cult symbolism.
The reason you take some stories seriously and others less so, is because some stories are fables and poems. While others are historic events. Unironically Christians decide to leep the books that have history in it so the old testament can apply to them. Jews just took the fables and such and built a religion around their frequent purges.
The bible is ingrained with western languages and customs btw, from a cultural standpoint there isnt much you can do to erase it from there.
