why do people give rey shit about learning a lightsaber quickly, but nobody talks about how luke was doing crazy flips, killed a rancor, and wiping out entire fleets of mercenaries with hardly any training as well

He trained. Rey didn't.

What do you mean hardly any training?

He was there for a while, nitwit.

because he had an entire film about training. It was called The Empire Strikes Back. Track it down when you get a chance. It's p good :^)

most analysts say 2 weeks, but wont go over 6 months
thats hardly "a while"

There was years between each movie in the series.

bet you cant find a single source that says luke trained with yoda for years

Not him. But it's less about the number as much as it is about showing it to the audience. You could off handed say Rey had 10 years of experience making rocks float on Luke's island, but it would still feel off to the audience unless the audience sees it. Luke, regardless of the amount of time, is seen working out with yoda. He's all sweaty and panting, and can't lift his X-wing. We identify with that, and see him improve.

Having said that, Rei's training with Luke is done simultaneously with the slow speed chase, meaning she couldn't have spent more than 2-3 days on that island, so luke still spent more time training if we're going by numbers.

He trained under yo-duh
Rey fingerbanged her sweaty puss in a burned out at-at

Luke had quite a bit of training

Bet you could

is this really in the movie?...

> Luke shows up in Jabba's palace choking and mindfucking his minions as easily as walking then to presents himself to Jabba all diplomatically with serene poise
> we already saw him as the petulant teenager with a hint of talent
> we already saw him as the young soldier learning to hone his craft
> we already saw him fail as he rushed into battle with Vader
> and here he is with all the scars and growth of the previous films treating with the big fat gangster surrounded by enforcers andyou just know he's in charge

Rey will never have that type of scene. The cunt has been a Jedi Master by the third act of the first movie and she still doesn't know what the Force is. They will beat into our heads how awesome she is again, but there's no way to actually show it or make us care. The most they can do is tear down Luke some more. Total clusterfuck of a trilogy. No story, no characters, no reason to care.

No, I'm saying he had years to train alone between each movie.

Rey had zero training. Luke trained with Yoda for a few days, then RotJ takes place at least a year after ESB, so obviously he practiced some things for a while.

When you're a strong, proud feminist woman you do not need a character arch.

Why didn't Luke just use the Jedi mind trick to convince his captors to let him go?

Bait thread, mods should ban you.

suck my ass, bitch

There is six months between ESB and ROTJ and there always has been. The word of the George.

Start of third film.
Rey does this shit in the third act!

You fucking zoomer piece of trash.

Because Incels can't handle a woman being as good as any man.

checked

There's 4 years between ANH where Obiwan begins his training and ESB. In those 4 years, it's clear Luke trains on his own since he can pull his lightsaber in the cave on Hoth. Then he trains intensely with Yoda for, at minimum, 2 weeks and it's clear he makes major strides here, as well as learning lessons he will apply after he leaves like
>I don't believe it
>That is why you fail
It's clear in the first duel with Vader that he has learned some shit, like when he jumps out of the carbon freezing chamber. In the 6 months between ESB and RotJ he trains to refine the skills he has and apply some of the lessons learned on Dagobah. The only new thing he does in Jedi is the mind trick, which fails on Jabba. Everything else is just a better version of shit he's already been trained to do.

Compare that to Rey doing the mind trick with zero training, holding her own against a trained Sith in a lightsaber duel with zero training, beating Luke, who is a fucking Master at that point, again with zero training, and lifting a dozen boulders after like half a day of "training"; something Luke couldn't do after years, including weeks with Yoda.

Rey is a Mary Sue, Luke is not.

shitty bait OP, fuck you

Star Wars is literally the gayest trash IP I have ever seen in my life. its so *cringe* it defies reason.

The timeline in ESB is not necessarily linear, we're seeing the two stories take place at different times.

It's intentionally vague and never explored how much time the falcon spent getting to Bespin nor how long luke trained. The only established timeframe is that ROTJ is a year after ESB, as you said.

Each story element could have taken weeks or months.

Time dilation, faggot

she trained with luke
watch the last jedi

You fags. You'll find out in the next movie that Rey was in a hyperbolic time chamber between scenes.

Trying to apply scientific concepts to Star Wars is dishonest. Star Wars is not Sci-Fi, it is fantasy.

why do people even care? theyre flying around in space using wizard and magic and shit wtf lol just enjoy the movie idiots

He spent weeks, potentially months training with Yoda. Then about a year passes between the end of Episode 5 and the start of 6.

They used a computerized system to send knowledge of the Force directly into her brain. Unfortunately it doesn't provide context or understanding, so she's basically where she started.
