no one knows he was probably memeing

>Therefore Jon Snow's situation is... unusual... because he wasn't even born in the North. Eddard Stark brought him back to Winterfell as an infant after fighting in the south during Robert's Rebellion, but refused to say who his mother was or where she came from. As a result of the mystery surrounding his mother's identity, Jon ended up using the surname "Snow" by default.

Ned didn't give any clues. He just showed up with a baby one day, and doesn't say who the mother is, or where the baby was born.

It's not the anachronistic moral whinging that annoys me usually, it's the insistence from people who I thought would know better that democracy is something that would always be the safer option. It shows a misunderstanding of historical context even in a fictional universe.

Republican sentiments in Europe were a result of centuries of political and economic revolution. Westeros shows no sign of these things happening. It is a decentralized kingdom with the king and even the paramount lords being dependent on vassals for manpower and legal legitimacy. The smallfolk are still largely agrarian, economic mobility is highly limited and the largest cities are still market towns without the same political representation as the cities of London, the Italian City-States or the German Hansa-towns had during the late Middle Ages. Culturally, almost everyone holds the values of oathkeeping, fealty and right-to-rule over Enlightenment ideals like representation, egalitarianism and liberty. In short, the necessary political infrastructure is absent and the balance of power still favours local rulers over the higher echelons of government.

It's like, how are you going to put in-place widespread, debilitating reforms when a local lord or knight can assemble his retinue and just go "No" and start making the lives of everyone under his vassalage so much more difficult.

Rewatched recently and it's sorta fucking weird when Thorne gets sent off to deliver proof that the white walkers are back and then nothing ever happens and it's never mentioned again and then he just shows back up and it's never explained what happened.

I know it's explored in the books w/e but they really dropped the fucking ball there. would have been that hard to film one fucking scene or even just have a throwaway line where it's explained away?

I'm still pissed that we didn't get punished Tyrion from the books. It would've been so Kino contrasting that Tyrion with the jovial Tyrion of Seasons 1 and 2.

90 minute long bonus episode taking place entirely inside the citadel, where old maesters just discuss lore and history the entire time

Can't wait until the next book comes out and retcons all the gay fanfiction shit the tv show added like R+L=J

it's possibly because he is lazy but i actually doubt it.
The world outside of westeros and the main plot of the books and show is fucking rich and vast with potential.
It's ironic that despite all the magical shit in westeros if feels so dead and barren compared to the lore and magical implications of essos.

only because everything is mysterious. It's very easy to build up a world filled with mystery and cool shit that's unknown / undiscovered such as asshai / the other continents south of essos / the shadow lands / five forts / yi ti, etc. That said, mystery is cheap, and while it's great to build a world, when you have to provide answers to those mysteries you will find the answers will never satisfy. For example, who the fuck is responsible for all the lost cities made of black oily stone, or the seastone chair? There's some dark ass shit behind all the ancient history of the world that GRRM built, but at the same time however he answers these questions will never satisfy, just as answering what happened in valyria will never satisfy fans. The mystery itself is what makes it so powerful.

FUCK that woke me up, you evil motherfucker.

I know it's just from a stupid video, but they clearly filmed this later in the season on the set, using actual costumes and props that we have not seen yet, so it's actually a spoiler that tyrion and cersei will both likely have future scenes in king's landing together wearing these costumes.

Also, it's interesting, I might be wrong but we definitely have NOT seen cersei in this costume yet, and it looks like her "armor" contains dragon glass on it? those black spikes certainly look like dragon glass.

Attached: Untitled.png (903x662, 373K)

why is this so funny

Who told you that? Kings and princes are
>better armed and armoured
>better trained
>protected by every single soldier in the army
>often intimidating targets

I have questions for the twink/cute boy loving GoT posters who post about it on Yea Forums:

How old are you? are you actually gay men? or yaoi watching women? do you feel wierd about it?

also why?

I only do it for Tommen because I'm the same age as Dean Chapman and he looks exactly like the sweet, romantic boy who took my virginity at 15.

thus any time I see a picture of Tommen I blush like an anime character and go all red from being reminded of steamy highly passionate adolescent gay sex not to mention my tight little bum getting deflowed and filled with cum

I'm confused.

Is Cersei preggers or is she faking it to manipulate Jamie? She holds her stomach like she carries but the old witch said she'd never have another child and she is drinking wine without regard.

Does this mean it is a ploy? Or they simply did not know it was bad for the fetus to drink/she'll or the baby will die?

Attached: 1500074907082.jpg (665x574, 36K)

Not if I kill her first

I read a quote from him somewhere that went along the lines of:

"I didn't think anyone had read the king in yellow and then fucking true detective had to show up "

>crucifixion in the got realm

Attached: a856afb28c5ce487bc70f3822993233e.jpg (443x488, 19K)

honestly, why does no one at least TRY to communicate or talk with the night king? What the fuck is there to lose? He's clearly intelligent, they have their own culture and society, they have a strategy that they're using against the armies of westeros.

So why not at least try to initiate dialogue with them, some form of communication, or do they think that their just mindless killing machines? Honestly, if they ARE just mindless killing machines that are still intelligent, then what is the point of this stupid plot in the first place? Why the symbolism and whatnot? There has to be more to them, if there's not then it's all pointless.

There's been so many scenes where they just stare at at the white walkers, and they stare back, but no one ever tries to communicate, you would think in general it would be a top priority to find out WHAT your enemy wants to you can better plan against them. Why not try capturing a white walker?

The only positive thing about this is she'll at least not live to see them fuck up the ending.

i think it's just more shitty inconsistent writing from dabid an dan.

Honestly, if cersei was pregnant, she would be visibly showing it because it's been at least several months in the show's timeline since she got pregnant from Jaime early in season 7.

is this bait?
if it weren't for plot armour, the mission to capture a simple wight would have resulted in a TPK.

>who the fuck is responsible for all the lost cities made of black oily stone, or the seastone chair?
Lovecraft shit.

>just as answering what happened in valyria will never satisfy fans
The Targeryons orchestrated the doom by selling Brightroar to the Lannisters for a massive sum of gold which they used to hire Faceless Men to kill the Valyrian sorcerers keeping the Fourteen Flames in check, which set off a chain reaction of volcanic eruptions that destroyed the peninsula.

some fanfic theory =/= reality. GRRM meant to the doom to be a complete mystery, he probably never had an idea what caused it if anything, but wrote in some clues so that viewers could theorize and come up with their own answers. The same applies to almost all the other mysteries he has created, he's great at creating them, I'll give him credit for that. The world of essos and sothoryos and the far east is interesting as fuck, and I want to know more about it so badly, especially Asshai which is probably the most interesting place that GRRM created in the extended world. I wish we could just get a small glimpse of the city and the shadowlands, or stygai.

No it's not convenient if there was 3 they could have easily killed 2 dumb dumb.

>GRRM meant to the doom to be a complete mystery,
Well he explained too much if that was the intent. We have the idea that the Lannisters getting a Valyrian blade would fuck up the Valyrians, the fact the Faceless Men say they brought death to the masters of Valyria, the entire freehold being a massive powder keg sustained by a few vulnerable individuals, the Targeryons selling a sword to the Lannisters for a huge sum of gold that effectively disappeared, them coming up with a prophecy where Valyria would be destroyed before it happened so they had a magic bullshit excuse to move to Westeros, conveniently turning them from a minor house to the single most powerful players in the world.

He explained it pretty explicitly once all the pieces are added up.

Because only so few people who are alive actually encountered his army and even fewer saw him. this is why no one has yet even thought about negotiiating or learning about his motives. The other thing is how much fear the army of the dead causes. Look at every single battle between humans and you see someone making casual remarks about it or even enjoying the fight. Every encounter with wights leaves everyone in fear. Just look at the hound handling the box with a wight inside.

BRAVO D&D

Night king arrives in winterfell....

...and everyone starved to death

of course. Everything in that entire episode was convenient. It was the epitome of poor writing to simply service the plot / fan fiction without any intelligence or foresight. Everything in the episode is nonsensical; from the fact that they travel on foot instead of by horse when they would have to ride hundreds of miles through vast wilderness and ice planes, to the fact that they are saved by deus ex machina and faster than sound ravens, to the ridiculous gendry running a marathon back to the wall and somehow knowing exactly where to go, to the fact that this expedition apparently brought no carts or food / water supplies with them for such a long, arduous journey.

It's all just nonsense. I mean honestly, they go to the mountain right by the weirwood tree that Bran was in, we literally see that fucking mountain and it's clearly shown that's where they were, and yet this location has to be way beyond the haunted forest (which we're never shown them moving through, only barren ice fields), and it must be at least several HUNDRED miles from the wall, far north of Craster's Keep, not to mention the fact that Eastwatch is several HUNDRED miles away from castle black, so wherever this location is it's several HUNDRED more miles away from both locations on the wall.

Also, despite bone chilling temperatures, NO ONE WEARS HATS, ONLY THE EXTRAS! LITERALLY ZERO EAR PROTECTION IN SUB ZERO TEMPS!

I know it's stupid to rant about this shit, but it bothers me so much. The whole episode is so fucking nonsensical and it shows that the writers do not care about creating a coherent or consistent universe, but just writing whatever they think is cool and inserting the characters into these situations despite it defying and breaking the already established rules of the universe.

How does he die?

Attached: 1502550711153.png (692x584, 576K)

Killed by Bronn. Nothing personal

You forgot to add the cannon fodder that went along. At the start of the episode it was already clear the cannon fodder and one of the important characters would die.

........Written for television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss

yep, the wildling extras who are all actually intelligent and wearing proper clothing / hoods, and they all die.

Whatever they want ;)

I get that he mellowed out when his hand got chopped off and he became a much better person but
>cripples a small boy (and a noble at that, if you care about that sort of thing)
>killed that one lanister he was imprisoned with just to try and escape
>killed Ned's guards in King's Landing basically because he didn't value their life at all

He has some serious crimes to make up for

>1 good man: evade detection
>2 good men: make a good tv adaption
>10 good men: impregnate the Eyrie
>20 good men: destroy Stannis
>50 good men: sack King's Landing
>100 good men: steal all the gold from Casterly Rock
>150 good men: unite the khalasars
>200 good men: bring down the Wall
>250 good men: awaken the volcanoes of Dragonstone
>300 good men: raise the sea level and drown the Iron Islands
>400 good men: turn clay into Valyrian Steel
>500 good men: destroy all the ice in the Lands of Always Winter, forcing the Night's King to sacrifice his daughter to the old gods (in vain)
>750 good men: jenga tower taller than the Titan of Braavos
>1000 good men: rebuild Valyria
>2000 good men: crack the moon, birth a new age of dragons
>3000 good men: go back in time and convince Renly to defend Stannis' claim
>10,000 good men: make GRRM finish TWOW

And how did they attach those chains since wights can't swim?

I feel bad for Ian McElhinney. He loved the books and he really liked playing Barristan. Then his character was butchered (literally) by two dumbasses.

>Get dabbed on by another nomadic horde which leads to you migrating west
>Use absolutely no armor even though all the armies you were inspired by did
>Use just a few horse archers instead of spaming them in giant formations to circle around any army while raining arrows on them
>Barely use any lances to actually fuck up enemies when you charge them
>Military victories mostly consist of sacking defenseless villages
>"Dothraki are so strong xD look at how they fucked up the exhausted and outnumbered Lannisters that were being crisped by a giant dragon"

Why are they like this?

>cripples a small boy
ok
>killed that one lanister he was imprisoned with just to try and escape
no one in the north or south gives a damn
>killed Ned's guards in King's Landing
They stopped him from taking Ned in, which was justified seeing as Cat took Tyrion.

why didn't jon snow and his fuckhead friends send anyone to Braavos or Essos to get help

Because that's what he is supposed to do. The ink is already dry.

Got is a good comedy, but a terrible adaption.

If they had more seasons going, id be in. But im chucking this one in the abandoned arc bin.

i cum everytime i see this meme

Attached: 1555463110034.jpg (1024x903, 70K)

fuck. why does this make me laugh.

Because dumb and dumber

Because they would most likely think the narrow sea protects them and decide not to help. If they even would believe.

Ned is the warden of the north and was formerly the kings hand. Jamie had as little right to take him in as Cat did to take in Tyrion. It was a shitty thing to do.

And whether or not people care doesn't excuse the act. AND in hindsight he was trying to kill Bran

Ummm why is Westeros not dying from all the infectious plagues the dotharki have brought?

What you suggest is treason

AND WHY AREN'T DOTHRAKI AND UNSULLIED FREEZING TO DEATH?

I'm rereading the books and it's neat how many events and secrets are written on the walls in just the first few chapters.

Did you even watch the episode

If I were GRRM, the current state of the show would really motivate me writing faster. Many people still think this current shitshow is Martin's doing (yes, even showfags are starting to hate the show) and I would really like to show them how the story really goes.

Attached: 1554735553467.jpg (960x540, 40K)

And Tyrion by law is the heir and warden of the west

I imagine they could sail ships if they got ahold of them.

It would be smart to make their armies spread out into smaller parts and defeat every single one with a combined force. You can not allow to suffer a single defeat because not only will you lose everyone who died but your enemy will make use your dead to reinforce itself. The problem is to make them spread out. So in this case it is actually good to fight the army of the dead in a single huge battle.

face like a fucking foot

I think that stands as the worst decision of the show. I get they wanted to make Tyrion Danery's advisor/hand but they could have kept Barristan the bold alive.

Yeah but he's also a midge

>be GRRM
>look at GOT
>do the opposite of everything the show does

Who has read the books, but have a brother who did and read the wikis?

I just think he doesn't care anymore. He's an old man, he is rich as fuck now. Probably just wants to live his last bit of life having fun and doing what he wants now. I'm sure he wants to finish and still loves writing but now he doesn't have to work and has the money to experience things he could never. I wouldn't be surprised if we wait several more years or he dies before finishing.

>Someone explain to me this mysterious power that has only been vaguely touched on
How retarded can you incels get?

Attached: 1505052396583.jpg (496x818, 94K)

what does /got/ think of Ser Davos

Hes just going to write something completely differend than the show to show how much of a "superior" writer he is.
I mean, even now we have completely different storylines, he will make us, Stannis fags happy, Lady Stoneheart, Griff, also absolutely sure he wont butcher Littlefinger like dabids did

>Charles the II of Spain

It's not really "explored" in the books. He shows up at King's Landing, there's one scene where he's granted an audience and Tyrion literally laughs him out of the hall. Then he's back at King's Landing.

What I fear, he starts to alter his original plotline too much. Changing even one thing can cause a butterfly effect. Soon he'll have to change another, then another, another and so on. Even thing he had already written, has to be rewritten now.

No, I don't want him to start changing things because show already did them. If he starts doing that, the books will never be finished. The books would still tell different story than the show. Some things would be same yes, but events leading up to them would be greatly different.

Absolute tool

Azor Theon

I always liked him in both the books and show, he is pretty smart, loyal, and honorable. Shame stannis didn't listen to him half the time.

What if he had taken the black? He would probably find out that there is a real threat on the other side of the wall and something would have been done earlier. Am I rite?

there is a small chance of Edmure appearing if everyone goes to south.
Who gives a fuck about that nigger and dorne?

Sorry for spoiling it though.

>Who gives a fuck about that nigger
This. The only reason he exists in the books is to job to based Darkstar

Martin should've written Darkstar as younger so if he chose to go with Young Griff being a fake Aegon it would've been better story telling to have Darkstar as the real Aegon.

that would be just sweet
the only bitterness is from how they shat on the books

someone add bran here at a distance

what books lmao? Doesn't even look like grrm is able to finish the story himself. How do expect d&d to cut all lose ends and get everyone where they need to be in like 2 month writing period when grrm was unable to do that in 10 years?

I know. But I'm not a person who care so much about spoilers. Especially not minor ones like that. I bet there are spoilers that can be more spoiling than others tho. I guess the wise thing to do is to stay out of these threads, but at the other hand it's so nice to have some people to chat to as I watch this series. And ofter the years I have actually gotten aware of some spoilers anyway, because friends have told me about the show before. Like some wedding when people die. I will probably know it as it happens, and the surprise they talk about will not hit me as it hit them. I know joffery dies too. So, many spoilers are already spoiled, sadly. Just because this show has been going on for so long and everyone thinks that everyone has seen the show like they have.

Are there any pics of her looking nice?

would you rather bang a chick with a hot body but an ugly face or a beautiful girl with a shit body (not fat but saggy tits and flat ass for example)?

I was weaned on venom, Dalt. Any viper takes a bite of me will rue it.[4]

—Gerold to Andrey Dalt

By tradition the Kingsguard were the finest knights in all the Seven Kingdoms ... but Darkstar was Darkstar.[4]

—thoughts of Arianne Martell

You were a fool to make him part of this. Darkstar is the most dangerous man in Dorne. You and he have done us all great harm.[5]

—Doran Martell to Arianne Martell

Ser Gerold is more a viper than your uncle ever was. Prince Oberyn could see that he was poison, he said so more than once. It's just a pity that he never got around to killing him.[9]

—Daemon Sand to Arianne Martell
Poison, yes. Pretty poison, though.[9]

—thoughts of Arianne Martell

Focus on despair, hopelessness and the feeling of imminent doom. Make it fucking grimdark and kill them all, maybe think of a few lore explanations on the way for the things that were left behind - doesn't have to be lengthy, just vague, since they have neither time nor imagination for it, it seems..
What do they lose by tying it in such a grim way? "The dead won, thanks for watching". Gg wp no re.

Nigga what, most people still hate Rhaegar and think he was a rapist who got what he deserved.

why does every redditor portray her as badass yaasss queen? did she actually do anything relevant?

Poor arya. She will witness her father's beheading.

Attached: poorarya.jpg (1628x818, 220K)

20 good men

Thousand times this. I actually got caught up with seasons 6 and 7 week ago just to finish this shitshow. It's not that 6 and 7 are that big of an improvement, I just stopped taking it seriously and seasons 6 and 7 at least how some stupidly good moments.

Though, one genuinely good moment was when Sandor buried father and daughter he robbed, that was last good genuine GoT moment in the show.

I really do hope she dies, she was cute in her 1st scene but her "garls can foght to lard gloova" act got old by her second scene.

It's good to have you here brah.

It was beautiful.

>why does every redditor portray her as badass yaasss queen
Because she's a women and shaming men
That's enough for them

She has certainly overstayed her welcome. You just know the plot was changed because test audiences liked her so she was increasingly added.

How could we let this happen?

Attached: file.png (659x370, 556K)

I'm surprised Cersei objected so much when Joffrey wanted to take Ned's head. Did she know at this point that Rob had taken her brother?

He wanted to take the IronthRing for himself. A traitor.

Goddamn, I will literally not ever be mad about it.

>Let's get this great actor who fits the role well
>and make him grow a beard he clearly can't grow
>Oh, and also make the show shit

Fuck Inhumans, fuck Scott Buck. It's like he made it his goal to cast Game of Thrones characters as leads and ruin their fucking careers in his shitty shows.

Ned was a great bargaining chip and killing him was pointless.

someone shoop bran in

why would you ever execute valuable high ranking prisons? they are very valuable

>Did she know at this point that Rob had taken her brother?
No, she simply knew the consequences - the entire North would go apeshit, and then the rest would follow suit.
Joffrey was a fag.

>prison
*prisoners

She's all talk. She'll be the first one to die. Which is a good thing.

Your queen commands you to have sex, incels!

Attached: 4XAvp1Sp_400x400.jpg (1280x720, 127K)

Rheon is hot as hell
Also I'd bully Alfie

because cersei is dumb and impulsive but not a complete fool. she knows the North isn't going to let their Lord be executed without starting a rebellion.

What a difference a few years makes.

>TREMBLE BEFORE WOMYN POWER, INCELS

Attached: 1551154788920.gif (400x225, 513K)

I agree, but she seem so impulsive and full of contempt and with strong feelings. She seem like the kind of person who would want his head because her strong feelings are clouding her judgement. I guess she is more rational than it appears. But this is a woman who wanted to kill an innocent boy just because she was enraged that her stupid son managed to get bit by a wolf. She is very impulsive at times.

And a few pounds.

No doubt shes impulsive but shes not stupid. Killing the butchers boy isn't going to cause half the fucking continent to rise up against you.

8 years or something.
This is what happens when they pick a woman in her 30s to start off a character that will be in the show for 8 years. She is now almost 40 and she will look as much too. They should've gone with an actress that was only 20 or so, that would be closer to the real character which was only 14 in the books too.

she's dumb as fuck

Attached: rw2nhx8yyat21.png (640x960, 751K)

>She seem like the kind of person who would want his head because her strong feelings are clouding her judgement.
She is, but also in that case she isn't actually dumb. Just knows when to bluff and when to take action. At least back in S1, the rest is foggy on me.
>She is very impulsive at times.
Well yeah, a woman. Typical.
The actress herself plays pretty well though. One of the best ones there, at least that's how I see her.

>shes not stupid
This bitch actually rationed that rather than be potentially buttfucked by Daenerys in case she helps them fight army of the dead she would be assraped INDEFINITELY when they lose to dead and also add to already massive army of the dead.

It's so fucking dumb it killed Jaime's entire fucking sex drive and he was read to fucking take on Mountain to be free from sticking his dick in this much of stupid.

IMAGINE KILLING SEX DRIVE OF ONE MAN WHO EVER LOVED YOU WITH YOUR STUPIDITY

Attached: Без названия (1).jpg (300x168, 8K)

Ha-ha, faggot, I'll be 28 next year. Just imagine, a couple more years and I'll become a wizard, haha, like that's pretty great, haha, having magical powers and all, gonna be great haha

Attached: 1553083576040.jpg (500x259, 13K)

...

I guess 18 or 19 then. And then part of the contract should be that she is gonna train regularly for the entirety of the show. They need to keep their actresses looking young, preventing their bodies to get that typical "getting older fat" on their faces and bodies.

It was a good idea up until Viserion got himself killed for nothing, now NK can counter-killzone with ice dragon breath.

at least there is a reason why Tyrion doesn't pay attention to him. Thorne was forced to wait for an audience for so long that the hand he brought with him rot away.

Wait, the battle of Winterfell is next episode?

I liked her. I haven't watched the new episode but
>listened to her council when necessary while asserting her own opinions and beleifs
>was one of the few with the balls to stand by her king (or who she believed to be the rightful king anyway)
>personally accompanied the men she committed to the battle
>short and sweet shaming of cowards and, essentially, traitors, without making a stupid smug face

Maybe the new season ruined her?
