I didn't hate it? I wouldn't say it was super good or anything. It was an origin movie, but I feel like it did very little to establish the character as a real hero? In the sense of like, the scale of the events were very small even by the end of the movie.
I think if everything was the same but all the "Hello fellow kids" school kid stuff was removed or replaced it would have rated a lot higher with me.

Yes, I was referring to the script and the filmmaking. Any time a movie tries to show interactions between families or children or school it comes off as stunted and uncanny valley because it's such a blatant facsimile created by people who are out of touch.
Obviously that's going to happen, my point is that I think if the movie went with something that it could more easily play off and was less plodding then it would have been more interesting, instead of all those parts being neither funny, dramatic, or interesting.
