episode: the one where mark befriends a racist, which also has the gog/honda story as a B plot as well. so many memorable stuff from that one. also shrooming for an honorable mention

can we all agree the first 5 seasons are the best?

Best episode: has to be ‘jeremy Makes it’ the one where Mark makes a friend with the racist and Jeremy makes a song for the guy he used to bully with a crack addled Hans.

The two arcs are equally hilarious and has some of the best Hans moments in it.

Second place goes to ‘handyman’ with the orgazoid.

Best character is a boring one as it’s going to be Hans or Johnson for nearly everyone, myself included.

Best girl is the teenage goth in season one but for a major character it has to be big suze

for me 8 and 9 were markedly worse

Agreed, 8 and 9 were a drop off the cliff in terms of quality.

From memory the ‘morrocan pasta’ episode in 9 is the only one that’s top class peep show imo

It fits with his character, ie sex crazed, that he would be bi. But it was handled so badly.

oh my personal favorite is when Alan walks in and Mark has a drink in front of him after making up the story about his struggles with alcoholism and he says, "Poor me... poor me... POUR me another drink."

Did you pay attention to the show at all? What about when Jez was fantasizing about Big Suze's monk bf? Or when Sophie said she had only been with three guys and he thinks "I've been with more men than that and I basically only sleep with women". How about when he and Hans sucked each other off, or when he wanked off Orgazoid? These are all in the earlier seasons, and there is a lot more that I'm forgetting, so they definitely didn't suddenly spring Jez being bi.

No love for Jeff? After Hans/Johnson, he's probably my favourite character. I find his workplace bullying v enjoyable.

Show went downhill after Dobby joined and the dumb love triangle arc was the pits. They brought it back with S8 - final season, season 4, and season 1 are best.

basically every episode from the first 5 seasons is the best episode.

the show had already crossed a line at that point where they allowed some slightly more cartoony things to happen for comedy. I think that's the main reason people prefer the earlier series. but that said, I can see why people like it because it is really funny and idk, I could talk myself into believing jez would do that. he would rationalise it because asians eat dogs sometimes

Don't fall for a Dobby, lads. It's not worth it. Happened to me, and it goes exactly like the show does. It sours and you find out they just aren't worth it.

Season 4 is peak Peep Show. Marriage season plot and all episodes are just brilliant. Bloody mental mates.

Haven't seen the show in a while, but I seem to remember thinking the last season was redundant, and not good nor a very fitting ending.

Mark confronting Jez after not going to therapy with dinner is the best scene.

It wasn't out of the blue but they went way too far into the gay.

It always bothered me how people say Mark jilted Sophie. They got married and she's the one who fucked off.

S1 overall is the best, it has fewer quips and all of that though. Just a bit more believable and gritty.
I can get why people find the Dobby arc lower quality than the earlier part of the series and I like it less but I still that having a girlfriend who you have very little in common with and the relationship just lasts too long is pretty believable
as are the changes in Dobby's character over time they reflect broader cultural shifts of the time

I suppose the fact that they were in the same place as they were a decade prior while everybody else had moved on, is quite funny, i hadn't thought of it that way.
But the their sticking together seemed too endearing, and I was firmly expecting a sad shot of Mark on his own in his flat, with no family and missing his only friend to round off the show. i should give the show another watch though

The one where Mark catches the kid breaking in the apartment.

Best character is Super Hans. Best single scene might be when he knocks on Marks door with a plank to get his drugs back.

I love when he gets really obnoxious towards mark, because frankly he deserves it a lot of the time

I can't believe this show had an episode where one of the main characters and his friend gave a teenage boy drugs and made him suck their dicks and played it for laughs.

Could that be done nowadays? It's so dark and depraved.
