-Submarine, Rush, Monsters Inc, LA Confidential
>BvS
Really?
Im sure I forgot to include plenty
>-Submarine, Rush, Monsters Inc, LA Confidential
Have you not seen those films?
I'd recommend Paths of glory and fantastic planet
Thanks for the recs, I will watch them
check it
django unchained was bad
BvS and TLJ are trash.
Otherwise very nice.
I'd recommend This is England and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Yeah i just have those as sort of contrarian kino as i think both of them are much better than what most ppl think
die hard is too good
A lot of pretty basic sci-fi
no 2001, alien, terminator, blade runner, total recall, starship troopers, robocop, gatacca, 50s scific, planet of the apes, anime-scifi, euro-scifi, star wars, star trek, comic, etc?
I think Dr. Strangelove is Kubricks most entertaining movie
boring and vanilla @ all posts
Couldn't get into 2001 and while I like Alien, Terminator, Total Recall, and Gattaca; I always felt like they were so ingrained into sci-fi cinema culture that watching them felt more like "Oh yeah this is good, I get why people like it" and not "Oh wow I really like this". I also didn't actually like 2001 that much.
Didn't particularly care for Planet of the Apes and Starship Trooper's whole semi-satire schtick wasn't that interesting to me, but I liked the movie. Just not a whole lot. Not a huge fan of the Star Wars movies and I haven't watched any Star Trek movie, literally only watched TNG.
+
Antonioni, Puprle Noon, Chungking Express, Bycycle Thieves, Bridge on the River Kwai, Memories of Murder
-
Rocco & His Brothers, Pierrot Le Fou
mind saying more on that?
post your list hotshot
Fight Club is definitely Yea Forumscore at this point
not good
What do you have against rocco and his brothers
Post your chart faggot
Yeah, I have trouble ranking Kubricks films, most of them are so god damn well done so it's hard to not have 4-5 in the top 10. I do have to rewatch all of them but Shining, EWS and 2001 made the most impact on me and were more "polished" (I'm a big sucker for quality), even though Dr. Strangelove was perhaps more entertaining.
In the name of the father was entertaining
well, we can't all be Eberts and give it a 2/4 just because we didn't like it's message
>rogerebert.com
That just makes ebert look like an absolute brainlet.
Iv'e read that review before and he comes off as such a sensitive and faggot boomer who completely missed the point of the film
Movies are subjective so who cares what a critic has to say
are chart threads the saving grace of Yea Forums?
this is commonplace for Yea Forums
inherent vice is underrated
I've found it too theatric for what it was: we have this story about poor villagers, dregs of society and the like, yet everyone talks and behaves like they're some mid-XVIII century aristocrats. I was on Italian neo-realism binge when I've watched it and it clashed like hell with other movies. That, coupled with unbearable purity of Alain Delon's character (as hot as prime Delon was, it's hard to take him seriously in this role), really marred my perception of Rocco & His Brothers.
I'd recommend
Paths of Glory
Punch Drunk Love
American Psycho
Phantom Thread
Anomalisa
Fight Club (I know it's popular and your'e probably already seen it but just rematch it)
this site sucks ass, it doesnt even work for half the ones Im trying to find
thanks
>Paths of Glory
love it
>Punch Drunk Love
will see
>American Psycho
will see
>Phantom Thread
love it
>Anomalisa
like it
>Fight Club
eh
where is your chart?
you people are faggots
I honestly think Ebert had a point. It has been demonstrated over and over again that plebs can't handle depth.
We had a kid kill a kid in canada because of Warlock
We had a frenchy go stabby because of Scream
We had americans dress up and go crazy cuz of Natural Born Killers
and we had that guy in aurora that went joker on the audience in the cinema
violence leads til more violence as evidenced by the video nasty debate and video gaming research papers
fight club will sooner than later become real, like ultimate fighting or something
recommend me films.
I already posted it
(I'm OP)
Pic unrelated
I believe it brought a lot of tough moral struggles such as how Rocco responded to his girlfriend being raped by his brother and she wanted to be held by him yet he was distant and eventually decided that family is more important then anything to him. All he wanted was a close family no matter what conditions they may have had to live in. And Ciro was rational and willing to be hated for doing what needed too be done.
Paths of Glory
Apocalypse Now
Punch Drunk Love
Prisoners
But he still missed the point of the film, he's right about plebs missing the point of films (great example would Clockwork Orange since a bunch of people replicated Alex's Actions) but he didn't understand the film
Breaking Away
perhaps he was "forced" to miss the point?
Thanks for the insight nerd, now scram
What do you mean?
World of Tomorrow 1 and 2
Badlands
House
Man Bites Dog
Whiplash
In Bruges
Inherent Vice
Nocturama
Wake in Fright
White Dog
Love Exposure
People can find whatever meaning they want and some will find whatever ways they can to justify their actions
Iv'e been meaning to most of those, I'll add the ones that I haven't thought about or heard of on my watchlist
Thanks

What are some of your favorite neo-realist films. I still haven't seen any Rosselini or Fellini. Antonioni is definitely my current favorite
Black dynamite is terrible, fuck you
Full Metal Jacket
Reservoir Dogs
Thank You For Smoking
Wolf of Wall Street
Goodfellas
Snatch
Fuck you. It's a meticulously crafted parody of a long lost genre.
sure, yeah, okay wh*te boi
Seen em all, liked em all except Reservoir
What was wrong with Reservoir Dogs?
Just not a fan of tarantino, a lot of his stuff rubs me the wrong way
It seems so forced which is usually not good for comedy
I'm not going to be really original here, I loved Bicycle Thieves, Rome Open City, La Strada. Nights of Cabiria too, though it rides kind of on the edge of the movement, switching between displaying the lows of Italy and rather uplifting scenes at the drop of the hat.
There is nothing wrong with liking popular movies, it is all subjective. I am only asking because it seems like we have fairly similar tastes
im a pleb rec me good shit
I cant use this tool on mobile so
2001
Under the Skin

if you have taste this bland and shit why even make a chart at all
id add elite squad, raid 2, amores perros....i dont use film to get a false of pretentious enlightenment. Its background for getting pussy or to smoke
these are the kind of people who post on this board now
braindead retards who love imdbcore and capeshit
films been dead for over a decade retard, grow up
No particular order after the first four
Holy shit the fucking plebs in this thread. You all post like you blew in here in 2016

Why don't we have threads for themed charts anymore?
all themes have already a chart
>SW III
we all have holes in our guards, good tast
stuck in highschool mode
pretty good hollywood list
not so good hollywood list
wrong picture
I'm a man of simple tastes.
You think I do this out of choice?
why are 90% of the charts in this thread pure r*ddit?
because television and movies are the biggest pleb magnet out of all forms of entertainment
this is as far as my attention span got me.
i haven't watched many films, recommendations appreciated
They're not. Just because you haven't heard of 90% of the film's ITT doesn't mean you have to get upset kid. Post your chart.
I'd recommend Chinatown and Seven Psychopaths.
Something ike that.
>House
Is it meme material or it's actually interesting/good?
I really enjoyed it. It's just a really odd movie, I saw it a young age and it stuck with me. Kinda pushed me into watching more abstract movies; I think in retrospect it's certainly not the most out there movie but it's wacky and entertaining. Give it a watch user.
t. norman
fuck me, yesterday a chart thread with an absolutely based OP died with like 15 replies because his picks were a little bit ((out there)) now take a look at THIS fucking thread, it's a shame
You guys are pretty cool
