What did you niggas think of Dragged Across Concrete? Best thing I've seen all year so far. Zahler is so fucking good and I love his whole philosophy about storytelling. Basically he doesn't give a fuck about identity politics and all that shit and is just focused on telling a great story.

>“And you’re entitled to it. If the most important thing for you to get out of the movie experience is to see a reflection of your personal beliefs, you probably won’t get that with any of my movies because they don’t even consistently line up with themselves.”

Why don't more artists think like this? Why do they wanna spoonfeed everything and fit in one box?

If you enjoy Zalher's works, there's a fair chance you will like pic related too.

Why does everyone get so hung up on Zahler’s politics because of this film? They now retroactively judge his past films with the same lens.

A fucking black guy came out on top in the film and took care of Mel Gibson’s family in an honourable manner.

I am so sick of both left wing and right wingers sticking their fucking contrived politics on to everything.

Great film 4.5/5

I really liked it. it wasn't perfect, but at least it wasn't conventional run of the mill hollywood diarrhea.

Best flick of 2019 so far. Zahler is on a roll at the moment seems there's no slowing him down.

i mostly liked both of these but the plots got a little shaky towards the end and dragged is easily zahler's weakest film.

For me it’s actually Tomahawk>Cell Block 99>Dragged across Concrete, dragged was sort of boring compared to the other two

loved it

I liked it but, it really shouldn't have been 2 1/2 hrs.

Pretty good, solid mix of drama, tension and comedy. Mel taking the piss out of Vince for missing shots with the huge ass sniper rifle was hilarious and so were the masked dudes.

It's a three hour long rap music video that happens to have big name white stars.

This movie could literally be titled Black Men Are Our Superiors. But SJWs didn't want to touch it, so they tried to dishonestly market it to non-SJWs, and that didn't work.

Except Standoff is bootlicking bs

Just marathoned it earlier today. It's a great film and I'm really impressed with Zahler.
For a relatively new filmmaker all of his directorial efforts exude confidence. He knows exactly what he wants to get out of each film he makes. It makes his films that little bit more enjoyable for an already solid work.

Will watch it tonight.

Impressive. It is as though, in just two and a half hours, destiny has elevated black cinematic genius to its rightful hegemonic position -- a hegemony which promises to see more righteous editing and longer shots with nothing happening, in stark contrast to the blood-soaked celluloid of the evil white man.

>bootlicker
chapo faggots are the cringiest

>tfw you can't wait until this bank robbery is over so you can have some welcome-back cake

>Just marathoned it earlier today.

how do you marathon a single film dipshit lmao

You don't pause a film to do other things then come back to watch a bit more before pausing again? What happened in your life to watch a film in one sitting.

Just curious here. Are you false flagging or is that really what you took away from the movie?

>he watches movies in one go

Boomer pls leave

I was dumb enough to fall for the fraudulent salvaging campaign for this movie. I sat through the whole thing. About halfway through I admitted that the studio had been 100% correct that this thing is not only too long, but there's absolutely no reason for these indulgent nothing scenes. You could take an hour out and it would still be BET but it work work cinematically better. This is not only a self-destructively biased PC movie, it's objectively ineptly made.

Fair enough assessment. I also admit it was a bit self indulgent but was really just more curious if you said your original statement on the sole basis being that the black guy "won".

Won? Won? The black guy is the far superior being in every single scene. The weakest thing about it is the unyielding wish fulfillment. This is a guy who shoots a cop's gun out of his hand at night and from across a parking lot. Superhero movies are more realistic than this.

Pretty idiotic plot; first he wanted to be Carpenter, now he wants to be Peckinpah. At least he has conviction and didn't yet go full retard like the guy that made Blue Ruin.

Carpenter and Peckinpah are in my top 5 favorite directors. So if Zahler wants to emulate them, I'm gonna keep being interested in the stuff he puts out.
