Ido mentions that her URM heart is designed to work with the berserker body. I don't know if that means that run-of-the-mill hearts can't power the berserker body, but it seems likely. Maybe Alita wasn't thinking of the fact she'd have to give up the body along with the heart.

Some anons don't think there's much urgency yet for Alita to get to Zalem since she doesn't actually know that much about Zalem, the URM, the Fall, the other Berserkers, or even that much about Nova. She doesn't even know why Gelda tells her to destroy Zalem. What she knows is that she's a player in all of this somehow.

Either way, the URM backstory fits Alita into a backstory she's not aware of and a backdrop that defines the setting. The Fall looks like the equivalent of the Terraforming Wars, and since we know the space elevator is still intact Ketheres might be up there along with whatever functions as LADDER.

They're not cringey art pieces on a shirt, they look more casual, like stuff you can wear to work. If it's just anime artwork, it makes you look more pathetic.

I deal with the same thing. I think a lot of people do and I'm not saying it's easy to just 'switch off'. We don't work like that, depression doesn't work like that. Very little is that easy. Being consistent and committed to doing your best is all you can do. Be proud of being secure in yourself and don't beat yourself up over things that don't work. Little positive change adds up slowly but it does add up.

This could be a problem. Just be yourself, it took me a long time to learn that. It's important to be self conscious and take criticism, but there's a point when others don't care and you should just do you.

I feel inferior a lot. To extended family my age, people I knew in high school, etc. What helped me learn to essentially stop caring about that was to understand what I want out of life. For me, it's living in an area I like working a job I don't necessarily hate. It doesn't have to be great. Just enough to pay the bills and not live paycheck to paycheck. And i had that for a little while. A lot of bullshit happened and I'm back to square one and I'm 28. So I understand how it feels to think little of yourself. I'm still unhappy but I'm slowly rebuilding and saving to get back to where I want to be. This time alone. I think the main thing to understand is that life is hard enough; don't shit on yourself because you can get to a place of contentment.you're the only one built for it.

This is something about the factory legal system that's kind of confusing in both the movie and manga. How does the factory investigate accusations of crimes? Presumably Zapan makes a report somewhere that he witnessed Hugo commit murder and within minutes, Hugo's face is shown on the bounty monitors.

If it's that simple to get someone on the bounty list, what's to stop people from accusing anyone they don't like and having them killed? Maybe hunter-warriors are trusted to accuse people, but accusations from regular citizens are subject to more investigation? In the comic, it mentions that netmen (which became Centurions in the movie) can do basic criminal investigation, often based on DNA analysis.

They would have to have some kind of safeguard against false accusations, otherwise people would be accusing anyone who crossed them.

That's probably how it works, and is why Hugo's bounty shows up so fast. Ido and Alita are also surprised there is no bounty on Grewishka even though Ido reported it to the factory.

There is no safeguard against fals accusations from HWs. The factories care not for justice, only keeping the population docile and working.

HWs would probably have a higher level of trust (probably after they have X number of kills so they have to earn the trusted status) but I doubt that trust would be unconditional. If the factory will put out a bounty on anyone a HW accuses, HWs could have anybody offed on a whim, and the factory would not want to be made fools of and used as a tool to settle scores.

If HWs could manipulate the system that way it would undermine public order regardless of concerns for justice.

These are the main story beats I want them to do in the second movie. I don't know exactly how it should be done, or even if it can be done. There are a lot of holes here, and certain things could be moved around. Manga spoilers ahead:
>we open with Ido wandering the streets and stopping the rape, befriending the brown loli
>after some dialogue she takes him to the CS match to see Alita
>Alita gets rekt by a now upgraded Joshugan
>first half of the movie is a whole lot of motorball, culminating in her facing off against Joshugan exactly like the manga
>along the way she learns to appreciate what she has in Iron City, so after motorball she tries to enjoy life for 20 minutes of screentime
>Zapan returns, gets killed
>Alita gets into music, sings at the Kansas
>Zapan gets the berserker body through Nova fuckery
>thrd act is her fighting Zapan like in the manga
>final scene, Alita wakes up in the Factory
>gets sent to smelting for using a gun
>doors to the smelter shut, shutting out all light
>credits roll
>mid credits she wakes up in the white room and gets recruited by Zalem
>Gally's Theme plays as she exits
>commence credits

For the third film I'm a lot more open to different ideas, I just know it'll have to be long.

Don't forget that Alita is a pleasant, loving person to her friends and family. That's a demerit in their eyes. Female protagonists must be as unpleasant as possible to everyone.

This scene kind of confuses me now. She complains how "he wants her to be his perfect little girl," and this line would make sense in the OVA, but he just explained to her a scene ago why he did hunter warrior stuff and why she didn't want her doing stuff like that. Why would she be apathetic like this?

Tomb Raider is the most surprising honestly. It did really bad, got no acknowledgement. Shazam was good though and it did pretty well. That makes a lot of sense. Aquaman too did really well. Either way at this point I think it's looking better than ever for Alita.

That's to be expected. Not every audience member is the sharpest knife in the drawer, and this movie also didn't have the best marketing. Just embrace the fact it made as much as it did and has a fanbase this passionate. A lot of movies make more, but don't attract such dedication.
