just finished this. where do you even go from this? I actually feel like doing a re-run right now, never felt that for a show, not even sopranos. but what about after that? what then?

I feel you, man. Honestly? Just chuck your TV out the window. It's never gonna be this good ever again.

I'm watching the 1st season of The Wire and I just got done watching the episode where DeAngelo teaches the younger kids chess. I was blown away! I had to watch it a couple times to really pick up on it, but did you guys realize that when he was teaching them about the chess pieces, he was really referring to THEM being the pawns! What an amazing metaphor!

It was so deep and meaningful, I am amazed by the deep symbolism of this.

Do the later seasons continue on with masterful symbolism like this? This was truly the pinnacle of storytelling that I have ever seen on a television show, and I think I can confidently say The Wire is the best show ever made without even having seen the entire series.

Also the acting is amazing. Idris Elba and Dominic West do a great job with their Baltimore accents.

Watch the Sopranos, it's even better

You're being a sarcastic faggot but it's pretty amazing how they reference that particular scene again when Bodie gets killed

Fargo just for fun. nothing comes close to Wire tho.

Let me guess, you thought the dream sequences were weird and unnecessary

It's hyped to shit but yeah, it actually does get quite good season two and then it's shit again until season 4.

Don't understand the hype for this show.

It's a good show for sure, probably the best police drama made but there are so much better things. I don't know how anyone could have watched the Sopranos and think this show is better. Sopranos is the only show I finished and immediately wanted to rewatch but decided to watch The Wire instead.

What a let down.

The Shield had a better ending. Fight me.

I don't feel like rewatching either of them

I could maybe see myself rewatching twin peaks

>but what about after that? what then?
I watched this series back in 2010. I watched the Sopranos that same year.
I haven't watched a single TV series this whole decade except True Detective and Game of Cunts.

Couldn't get into that show, got as far as episode 3.

you leave tv behind and go to literature

>there are so much better things
Name ONE (1) better tv series except the Sopranos.

Sopranos > Mad Men > The Wire

>no one recognizing copypasta

I like Deadwood better. Maybe give that a try. If you start now you'll be caught up by the time the movie comes out.

They're both based around communities, but Deadwood is more intimate, more character focused. Deadwood is about a community forming (not disintegrating like Baltimore) so it feels pretty cozy at times. There's still plenty of intrigue and brutality as well though. Absolutely amazing actors across the board, too.
