Dwayne Johnson is giving him a run for his money

you mean "The Rock"?

Name one kino The Rock has been in

The Rock in 'The Rock'

Jingle All The Way

Jumanji

>Imagine

How can Rocklets even compete

Attached: Arnold List.jpg (1792x3272, 1.71M)

Conan for Aesthetics. Probably top 10 musical score, also

Conan is the best Arnold film

True lies, easy.

>Dat opening investigation scene
>Bridge chase
>Ending fight in the building not forgetting arnold flying a jet

Besides Arnold was still in his prime and it's one of his most charismati roles. It also got to be one of the last movies that had muslim terrorists as the bad guys before it started to always be russians?

Attached: True lies.jpg (314x445, 26K)

Attached: dat all the arnolds.png (1238x1238, 2.13M)

True Lies is probably his most underrated classic, its so fucking good

Wrestlemania X-7

Shit taste: The Chart

Casual the post

you just like it because that one sexy scene gives you boners

literal ubermensch

Is that the one where at the end hes pilotting a jet and the bad guy arab is strapped onto a rocket that he then shoots through a building?

Go fuck yourself

Predator all the way
Fucking masterpiece

Shame his bod was peak during Conan the Destroyer

Attached: 150636.jpg (400x600, 50K)

He has the potential, but his movie pickings have been awful.
Observe:
>Arnold
Conan the Barbarian
The Terminator
Commando
Predator
The Running Man
Total Recall
Kindergarten Cop
Terminator 2
Last Action Hero
True Lies
All of these were well received critically and/or remembered to this day by audiences.
Let's take a gander at the best and most memorable of Rock's filmography:
Mummy Returns
Scorpion King
The Rundown
Walking Tall
Get Smart
Race to Witch Mountain
Fast&Furious movies
Jumanji
Fighting with My Family
Moana

Dwayne just has nothing compared to Arnold's credits.

Jingle All the Way desu

>Is that the one where at the end hes pilotting a jet and the bad guy arab is strapped onto a rocket that he then shoots through a building?
Yeah with the kino line "you're fired"

>Mummy Returns
he wasnt in the film, its literally all CGI lmao

True Kino

Why do plebs hate Arnold so much?

Attached: arnold rotten pleb.png (1724x1524, 1.62M)

DILLON

Dwayne was present in the intro, and I had to put ten movies to match the ten I used for Arnold. You're right though, in that it's not substantial.
youtube.com/watch?v=JXxlL59ismA

Who said i was fair?

Attached: hamlet arnold.jpg (600x300, 36K)

Conan, Predator, then Running Man and Terminator 12

80s and 90s critics were almost as bad as they are now.
Roger Ebert's pleb opinions also influenced countless peers. They'd echo him constantly.
Nobody at the time took critics seriously in the slightest for that reason.

He definitely crushed that puss

The day The Rock stars in a movie as strange, yet amazing as Conan, or the day The Rock stars in a movie like Predator, is the day The Rock can even begin comparing to Arnold. Rock has a lot of screen charisma and presence, no lie. He's fun to watch. But he hasn't DONE anything that has truly impacted hollywood.

Go back and watch Conan. It's so fucking weird and badass, and Arnold isn't really playing a hero, just a badass guy. Arnold played a straight up cold villain in Terminator. Arnold has many stinkers under his belt, but his great movies are GREAT. The Rock has a huge number of stinkers, and hasn't starred in any great movies where he is out of his element.

Total Recall is also, from my experience, the smartest post cold war science fiction film.

>the smartest post cold war science fiction film.
that would be junior

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 28K)

Arnold really had the best ability to pick out kino, like how many people getting the script for Terminator/Predator/Total Recall etc would think "Yeah this is the film"

>Rock has a lot of screen charisma and presence, no lie. He's fun to watch.
since when. the rock's only actual acting was as his character "the rock" but when he's """"ACTING""" in a real movie role his charisma vanishes and his smile is the quintessential example of what christian bale was talking about when he refers to his emulation of tom cruise's dead smile with "nothing behind it"

A close and well-earned second.

That's the other thing about Arnold that people don't appreciate enough. The guy is legitimately and intentionally hilarious. He's great at physical comedy and his comedic timing is always on point.

Raw Deal or Red Heat, which was the true kino

Arnold is legit one of the best physical actos of all time

Hardly a special thing, thats true of basically any 14-50 yrs old puss who got in grab range.

I'm not going to refute any of that, but I get a kick out of the Rock. He's got plenty of fans and I don't get the impression that he is a condescending ass.

The one with based Jim Belushi, obviously.

why did Arnold say cocainum? is that even a real word?

Just watched original Predator movie last night.

Great movie, pretty good performance by Arnie.

What Arnold kino do i watch?

Attached: arnold film kino.png (269x286, 7K)

Meanwhile Schwarzenegger can act really well if the script calls for it. He's shockingly believable. I was incredibly impressed by his performance in Maggie, and that isn't the first time he's shown acting prowess. Like his shock and disbelief at the beginning of Collateral Damage.

I know, he must have a higher body count than all of his movies combined.

GET
TO
THE
CHOPPA

Replace Genisys with Red Heat or Conan the Destroyer and you're set for a fun time.

They're all shit

predator

>A goofy, over muscled beef cake that can hardly speak english was in this

youtube.com/watch?v=RVFpy5UwsAU

No, he cannot be surpassed.

Predator, Conan, and T2

The Arnold holy trinity of kino

Damn this image made me realize Arnold was in absoulte peak masculinity only for a span of like 2 years between Commando and Predator. Before that he looked a bit too young and by Total Recall he already looked aged

I thought it was shit.
Wife was a whore.

>Wife was a whore.
That's kinda the point of the movie.

Husband literally just encourages it.(more or less)

IMAGINE

>Batman and Robin
>not God Tier
Leave and never come back.

Nah

Nothing, honestly. Whereas Arnold has dozens of great movies, Dwayne Johnson has basically nothing memorable at all.

It's actually kind of strange. You'd think he'd have one, it's not like he's a worse actor than Arnie.

>it's not like he's a worse actor than Arnie.
I disagree. Dwayne doesn't push himself when it comes to acting and stays in his safe zone.

pain and gain is honestly great

Attached: file.png (1024x768, 1.91M)

Pain and Gain.
That being said, he will never surpass Arnie.

Attached: 931.jpg (2337x2139, 2.15M)

It's the only memorable movie on Dwayne's list I agree. It was because of Wahlberg's performance, though, not Dwayne's.
Pain and Gain is severely underrated because of its director, which I find pretty fucking tragic. It's exactly the kind of story that only Michael Bay could tell. All of his flashiness worked to its every advantage.

DOOM. Fuck the haters.

NO

Red Sonja is trash
Raw Deal is supremely underrated as is Red Heat
And Batman and Robin is terrific schlock.

The Rundown

U
SON
OF
A
BITCH

Attached: 1.jpg (678x426, 29K)

For me it's Commando. Pure kino.

Why is there so much hate for Last Action Hero? Did nobody understand it was supposed to be a comedy?

i wanna fuck this twink

He should make a predator sequel set in Christmas called "Predator All The Way"

The Other Guys

Cameo.

Raw Deal was shit

Agreed

No it wasnt

DO IT

KILL ME NOW

I agree with most of this. I'd put a 5 on Junior, a 6 on T2, and a 2 on T3 though.

>T2
>6
???

DOO EET DOO EET NAOOO KILL MEEEEEEE

Furlong's performance knocked a full 4 points off.
Even the schlubby New York kid in Last Action Hero was way better overall.
Also wasn't crazy about Terminator not killing people, but that's more of a personal thing.

Just terrible taste

>unironically enjoying James Cameron going full "How do you do, fellow kids?" with Furlong's entire character

Attached: tenor.gif (480x480, 3.3M)

>Post wwe shit

>the mummy returns
>the other guys
>the rundown
>doom (needs more asshole/villain roles)
>the game plan
>pain and gain (my personal favorite role)

>WWF character
>wwe shit
You know what, I was just being polite about that 6. T2's narrative was so hamfisted and shitty it ruined the only thing that would've made it good: the fight and chase scenes.

You don't know what a cameo is. He played a minor side character.

>implying i watch wrestling
get help kiddo

Now list some actual kino.

Originally (1920s) "cameo role" meant "a small character part that stands out from the other minor parts". The Oxford English Dictionary connects this with the meaning "a short literary sketch or portrait", which is based on the literal meaning of "cameo", a miniature carving on a gemstone.[1] More recently (late 20th century), "cameo" has come to refer to any short appearances, as a character.
An A-lister having a minor role is all that's required to count as a cameo. Sam Jackson and Dwayne Johnson only being in the prologue counts.

Stick around

They weren't only in the intro though. They have several scenes before dying roughly 20 minutes into the film.

>the mummy returns

And now some actual kino.

>any short appearances, as a character.
Still checks out.

Quote any Arnold movie, even one's you may have not seen.

Now quote a Dwayne Johnson movie.

Do not bake and drink

"You're fast, kid, but I'm Faster."
"If we're gonna get there in time we're gonna have to Race to Witch Mountain."
"I'm The Scorpion King now."
"Give me the Rundown."
"You'll have to Get Smart to beat me."
"We're playing Jumanji. Welcome to the Jungle."

Beyond The Mat

>no Hercules In New York
Shit list

"If we don't make this jump, our cases'll probably go to The Other Guys."

No he cannot be surpassed because there's nothing to surpass. Arnold is unique in his success. Unless there's another Austria coming up star coming up.

Attached: arndold.jpg (585x780, 128K)

He was good in The Scorpion King, it was a role written with him in mind. He was great in Walking Tall, he was coming into his own and the movie was good to boot. He was good in The Rundown cause Stifler was good too. As far as a truly GREAT and memorable Dwayne Johnson film or role, he either hasn't done it yet or is too stuck in his comfort zone to branch out and do a serious or dramatic role that strove to showcase his acting skills. He should do a theatre or Broadway show for a year or two to hone his craft, but he has had a good role here and there. If he has a really good writer behind him like Brian Gerwitz, he zeroes in on gold. I can agree there hasn't been a quintessential best of Dwayne Johnson movie or collection that are worth repeat viewing unlike Terminator, Predator, True Lies, or even Kindergarten Cop or Twins, but many of Arnold's biggest movies also had once in a lifetime talent visionary directors behind them and that's something Dwayne's era is lacking.

Oh yeah....him vs. Hogan.

This era has plenty kino directors, The Rock would just never take the risk to work with them unlike Arnold

Could Dwayne play a convincing Terminator?

Yeah he terminates my interest in a film

>not posting it with the accent

How is Maggie?

Based

Attached: 1555540192255.jpg (138x200, 4K)

It's the actual Russian word for cocaine

He's really good in Aftermath, I hope he does more straight dramas, he's way past action roles now.

CONAN,WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 64K)

CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES
SEE THEM DRIVEN BEFORE YOU
AND TO HEAR THE LAMENTATION OF THEIR WOMEN

So they only come up if they're a coming up star coming up?

Predator.
And honestly, no I do not thing he will ever be matched in doing what he does.

my heart
haters gunna hate, but she'll always be on my celeb crush list

i have nothing against The Rock
however
he will never get to da choppa
he'll NEVER surpass Terminator, Predator or Total Recall
even most of the mediocre Arnie movies, Duh-Wayne will just never surpass them
and, btw
he will NEVER become the Governator of Kalifornia
sorry guys
but you know it's true

yes

Attached: thnxBro.jpg (1920x1080, 168K)

total recall was the shit.

Predator.
Isn't even really close?

Pain and Gain

that being said its his ONLY kino

t1 of course

Attached: t1assualt.gif (636x358, 2.14M)

Conan movies are my favorite but I've got a soft spot for Twins because it's also got DeVito

>Dwayne Johnson is giving him a run for his money
LMAO @(You)

Tie between conan and preadator.
Special mention for pumping iron
>Will he ever be surpassed?
No. Even if some actor was able to make more kinos than him, nobody will ever be able to surpass the sheer amount of success he had in all the other fields he's a part of.

I do remember “Aim for the bushes”
