Advertising and music is generally shit these days

They peaked and went downhill ever since.

some artists still have kino videos though

All you need these days is just some gameplay footage and you're done.

Internet killed the video star

90% of music videos in the 80s-90s were produced by Propaganda Films which was notorious for ripping off crews. When it went out of business in late 90s/early 00's it left millions unpaid to vendors, equipment rental houses, and crewmembers.

good shit.

MTV is gay. the lucifer pop circle get their exposure on the web now

Why bother when it's just going straight to YouTube anyway. Even if you rack up tens of millions of views you aren't going to be able to cover a decent production budget for some elaborate shoot. Might as well just rent $1000 worth of gear for a day and have a videographer film you and your crew jumping around and acing crazy. You can get an editor to throw a bunch of colorful shit on it in post and voilĂ , you've got a music video that's good enough for the average normie. Anything more expensive than that only makes sense for Drake tier artists who are shooting for hundreds of millions of views in support of their upcoming platinum album.

They're still around and as lewd as ever.

Spotify happened.

They still get released but only by certain performers. And MTV sure as fuck doesn't play them. They go to YouTube. I've been going through Taylor Swift videos and she has a ton. Newer ones as well.

MVs now are just pretentious arthouse shit, or semi nude art shit, nude art shit, or zzzfest "live" performance vid.

If I see any more bitchyswift here I'mma EMP the internet.

He has some good vid aesthetics - I like american dreamz and everybody hates me for the visuals.

they are all on youtube to watch whenever you want you dumb fucks. thats why there is no music videos on tv

the phrase it like that, much music, MTV, and BPM tv are dead, and it's likely because they excluded genres and only played radio friendly stuff that wasn't GOOD music.

whatever happened to restaurants?

Because all modern artists are soulless whores and now every video is MKultra brainwashing + Beats advertisements

I have some videos from MTV on recorded VHS,

They still exist, mostly on youtube.

Based Propaganda Films practicing the Art of the Deal.

Society advanced. They were no longer interested in 3-4 minute video presentations of music they could get for free.

I still love many of the 80s videos fwiw. I still remember Madonna becoming a star in a $50 video.

So the art of the deal is to screw over your workers

I use to watch rap videos just to see the girls in them.

Music videos now are either cheap shit made by nobodies, or insanely expensive made by superstars who can afford it. They're never played on TV because TV is dying.
