It doesn't have to be something that you've actually liked, I just want to see how far Yea Forums has gone into film past. Pic related, it made me realize what how awesome German Expressionism was
What's the oldest film you've seen to it's completion?

looks like some anime shit
Probably Nosferatu.
The silent one.
It was awesome... It was in the theater and there was a dude playing the organ.
>It was in the theater and there was a dude playing the organ.
that's pretty based. what theater was it?
Sherlock Jr or Joan of Arc not sure which is older
Not him but this theater by me did the same thing during their horror-thon a few years back.

It was at the Rio theater in Santa Cruz, California.
They'd get real film and show older movies. Wings of Desire was pretty sweet (I know, not that old but great to see on screen. Saw some John Holmes 3-D porn which was silly. The group I was with left early to go record music and stuff. They'd do concerts and live shows like stand up and famous poets like Lawrence Ferlinghetti who I think is like 100 now. Great venue.
Hell yeah! Based Lon Cheney.
I still need to see this one...
forgot link:

A Buster Keaton film, Nosferatu, and that one where they fly to the moon which is probably the oldest, though it's only a few minutes long if I remember right.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one.
le voyage dans la lun
I watched Thomas Edison jack off.
beauty is objective, and that objectively looks like dogshit. they even admit this themselves. the point isn't to look pretty, it's to think about it and write about it afterwards.
they did this because at the end of the 19th century artists were getting bored of beauty.
For a hundred years they've experimented with it.
wow
so glad we could watch porn afterwards in the same room, way to frame it...
Yeah, OP speaking: five minute meme fliques don't count.
Hearts of the World. I didn't finish Intolerance.
Wizard of Oz? Bambi? Maybe Them!
I have no idea
cringe stop pretending to me be
The mediator between the head and hands must be the heart.
So glad I finally watched it.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari apparently.
By jack off, do you mean electrocute an elephant to spite Tesla? If so, I've seen that too.
It was "Lollipop Girls in Hard Candy" and it was the 70s style 3-D with the blue and red glasses. It was really bad. The only part I really remember was John Holmes plowing some gal from behind in an industrial kitchen and drowning her in a pot of water while doing it.
Triumph of the Will unironically
we watched it in film class
I guess this was earlier than all those Buster Keaton movies I watched, and Metropolis.
I'm gonna have to see this.
Not really related but this pic here is from that film and was used on the album art for some Bauhaus album. I think it was Bela Lugosi's Dead back cover.
If we're only counting feature films, then this (1915).
For me it's Caligari, but for movies made before 1930 my favorite is Man With a Movie Camera
>german expressionism ftw
Anyway this and Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush
