John Cena In Talks For James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD

>John Cena ("Bumblebee") is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros Pictures' THE SUICIDE SQUAD, the reboot of the critically panned, but commercially successful 2016 DC Comics adaptation directed by David Ayer ("Bright"). James Gunn ("Guardians of the Galaxy") is directing the movie and wrote the latest draft.

>Cena is eyed for the role of Christopher Smith AKA Peacemaker, "an agent of peace driven by an extremist form of pacifism that makes him love peace so much he would kill for it." The cast also includes Margot Robbie as Harleen Quinzel AKA Harley Quinn; Jai Courtney as Digger Harkness AKA Captain Boomerang; Joel Kinnaman as Colonel Rick Flagg; Viola Davis as Amanda Waller; and Idris Elba in an undisclosed lead role, rumored to be Ben Turner AKA Bronze Tiger.

>MARIA / RATCATCHER (Female, Latina, 18 to play 18-22): An idealist, an innocent, a complainer, a warrior for goodness and a lazy millennial all wrapped into one. A super-criminal and one of Batman's enemies. She started out as an exterminator in Gotham City before turming to a life of crime, aided by an army of small rodents she can communicate with and control. She's also a fan of poisonous gas.

>ABNER KRILL / MISTER POLKA-DOT (Male, Caucasian, 20s-30s): A Gotham City supervillain and, like Ratcatcher, a sworn enemy of Batman. He grows multi-colored polka dots on his body that he can turn into fireballs and other weapons, even though, for the most part, he's embarrassed about his awkward abilities.

>CHRISTOPHER SMITH / PEACEMAKER (Male, Open Ethnicity, 20s-40s): An agent of peace driven by an extremist form of pacifism that makes him love peace so much he would kill for it.

>NANAUE / KING SHARK (Mocap/Voicework): A villainous humanoid shark whose father is believed to be the so-called "Shark God", though others dismiss him as merely a savage mutation.

>THE GENERAL (Male, Hispanic, 30s-40s): Handsome, charming, very physically fit, an incredibly ambitious general, you just love the guy when you meet him.

>THE MAYOR (Male, Hispanic, 50-59): An irascible old warrior, he lives for war.

>THE CREATURE (Female, Open ethnicity, 20-30, requires prosthetics): Muscular alien woman, Queens-tough. Surly and monstrous yet open and grounded.
