His plan, from what I can gather, was to cause agitation on the coasts of the North by pillaging it to demoralise the peasants since they have no protection against pirate attacks, and turn them against their Lords. Then when it was enough, creep into the North and start taking it over slowly while Robb was busy fighting the Southern armies, while ensuring a steady stream of supplies and food from sea transport.

But Theon fucked that all up by going for Winterfell directly with only a small invading force and no way of resupplying since he didn't even notify his father of it until he had done it.

It’s like the show but it makes way more sense.

The entire buildup to the reveal of Jon's parentage, arguably one of the most important details in the overall story, and most importantly to Jon, gets completely glossed over in a less than 5 minute scene.

The man literally learns that his entire life has been spent living a lie. His father wasn't the real deal, His real dad was the dumbass that got his whole house nearly ended, he went to the fucking wall for being Neds bastard, he was crowned KITN explictly for being Neds son, etc.

Even if we the audience know it and have known it for like 13 fucking years this is still a huge deal for Jon and yet that revelation and all the baggage with it is completely glossed over for Sam to ask Jon to take the throne over Dany. Fucking Jon doesn't even acknowledge that the queen he's been fucking is actually his aunt.

And thats just one fucking plotpoint from the episode. Euron/Ceresi, Yara/Theon, the fact Jon just flies a fucking dragon and is goofing off with Dany immediately after she lost a "child"
