I really am, I spoiled myself a little bit with the manga but only up to about this episode.

So far I am enjoying King V Saitama and I think this season is more about their fight in video games rather than whatever else is going on due to it being the only thing Saitama is caring about and the parts simply falling into place around them, I expect Genos to handle the Garou guy and for it to be a lesson on science vs nature and the concept of monsters in this world.

What does this page look like in the manga proper?

The show is absolutely absolutely about self improvement. Almost every one of the major character basically has a personal quest to become stronger and does so in all kinds of ways. Speedo for example trained like a mad man after getting dick punched by Saitama. Genos for example has begun to basically cannibalize his robotic enemies in order to become stronger.

Even Mob Psycho 100 is largely about self improvement in some way, but it tends to focus primarily on mental development to become a fully functional adult. Characters are constantly coming to realizations about their place in society and how to deal with others in a more mature manner while also dealing with the fact that they might also be way more powerful than you are in some way. The lead character even joins a body improvement club. You really think all of this is just coincidence?

We aren't there yet, but soon

Those kinds of random static shots where in S1 as well. It isn't so much lazy animation as it is not wanting to focus on just two people talking. If anything it probably took more effort to make that frame than to keep animating people talking.

The real problem is that the talking is animated extremely statically to begin with. Its like they just took the manga as a story board and added as little animation as they possibly could. The season appears to be filled with this like this but the episodes we've seen thus far as far less exciting in story content than the first season. By episode two we'd gotten four major fights already.

that whole story is faulty to begin with. I'm sure the manga will probably flesh that out better. The hero association started from the father of the boy Saitama saved in chapter one from the crab guy. Blast was just given a rank same as King was. They never had to try out.

Not that it particularly matters since the race of the characters really doesn't affect the story in this case, but it just occurred to me we don't really know much about the demographics of OPM's universe or really anything relating to it's culture and such

This motivated Tatsumaki to become a hero, and this is also a reason why she wants to be alone and cut relationships with people.

Saitama killed the monster that gave King his scars and had a talk with him. Saitama might actually remember King but just plays the fool just to don't come off a braggart or a douche. Its like when he calls people by incorrect villain names as a taunt only for the opposite reason.

It does make the most sense.
The only things that really goes against it is
A) Tats' memory, but that's not entirely trustworthy since she clearly has ptsd
B) that he didn't beat elder centipede in one punch (however, if we assume blast is Saitama , then that fight would have been before he broke his limiter, which would explain it)
while these certainly are in no way something that can be overlooked, the similarities between Saitama and blast are too big to just be mere coincides

Nah it's pretty different. Simon Pegg plays a cuck who finally gets a gf, only for her to be killed as collateral during a super hero fight. He's pissed and becomes a raging incel.

He's recruited by a secret black ops team employed by the government to stop superheroes getting uppity. They brutally beat the shit out of superheroes (pretty much every superhero is a hypocritical idiot asshole)

There's more to it but that's the gist of what I remember from reading the comics back in the day.

In terms of animation and direction sure, but the script of mob psycho is genuinely terrible.
The action is horribly written and completely weightless and uninteresting.
The spend and embarrassing amount of time explaining magical powers and attack moves that mean absolutely nothing like some retarded battle shounen shit.
And the moral high horse stuff is condescending, even worse that it's so surface level with it's themes, and the moral positions one puts mob in are so forced and dishonest.
And for the love of all that is holy, it really really isn't even remotely funny at all, there is no effort in the jokes, the banter is incredibly weak.

despite everything being 2/10 at best, it's easily the most well animated tv anime i've ever seen, sadly that doesn't save a bad script and bad characters.

Mob is at it's best when it's an inoffensive coming of age story for an agreeable awkward do no wrong mc, even then it's a 5/10 at best, but those moments are at least interesting. The entire battle shit arc ending s2 was a complete cluster fuck dumpster fire. episode 1 was the only decent one and they never follow up on that story.

The music was soo off and barely captures any scenes, characters have no believable chemistry or relationships, mc is boring as all fuck, the ending was unclimactic as all hell and completely unearned.

I understand it's A E S T H E T I C, and has cool world design and all that superficial shit, but it's just not a good movie, as is the case with most of this guys work.
