There's actually quite a few that are pretty well made and can hold up today. You just have to respect their limitations and the styles they developed with the tools they had and the norms of the day.

I don't watch movies

>there are quite a few that are still considered shit by todays standard, but if you rp that you lived in the 20s you might enjoy it

This face is pure kino and so is the movie since it's basically only close-ups on it.

16 minutes long and it drags for 15 minutes. Your pic and the next shot are the only reason to watch it.

I cannot get into silent films. The lack of dialogue makes me sleepy

Nah, I understand. It took me awhile before I could appreciate it too. What kept me interested was seeing how they did their "special effects" back then, as some of them were pretty convincing given their limitations.

Probably The Phantom Carriage but Cabiria is great too.
Based Frank.

More like Greta Garbage

You have awful taste

Real talk though, don't you think those eyebrows are just a little overdone?

nah

Gotta go with Metropolis. One of my all time favorite movies.
Of course with the original soundtrack and not all these retarded new ones you find on youtube.

This or Aelita Queen of Mars

The Birth of a Nation (not memeing)

The Call of Cthulhu (2005)

It is, dare I say, quite Lovecraftian.

>Aelita Queen of Mars
>While very popular at first, the film later fell out of favor with the Soviet government

Have to check this one out.

I've never actually seen the whole thing. Is it really better than Intolerance?

depends what you're looking for. Intolerance is more avant-garde with its structure while Birth of a Nation is straightforward.

I'll prolly give it another look sometime, maybe at the weekend. How much is based Lillian in it?

>Hurr everything with tentacles must be lovecraftian

Ctuhulu is.

Sherlock Jr

Based.

Fine. You got me.
