For me it is somewhere around season 13 because animation was still pretty good and the stories were okay. I feel that a definite end for the golden age would be when they switched from hand drawn animation to computer animation in season 14. For me that was the end of original Simpsons.

Well I would argue that "not bad" continues to around season 13/14. In my opinion both seasons 12 and 13 had pretty good episodes in general.

I remember the one that just killed simpsons for me was when Lisa made a new friend or something and they just started singing at the school playground and then Skinner and Groundskeeper Willie stuffed their ears. It was just so unfunny and cringy that it put me off the new seasons for good

I remember when Marge became an erotic baker. For some reason that episode has always stuck in my memory as one of the worst ones.
I feel you. I have seen every episode at least once and I have no idea about the last 10 seasons. Ofc I am probably a bit biased towards earlier seasons because I have watched them more and they have been on TV reruns more often.

The Lady Gaga one for me. That episode was just too much. I wasn't an avid watcher for a few years but wouod still try and watch the new episodes and some classic episodes now and then. Began noticing the constant celebrity cameos playing themselves and that episode was the final straw

Stopped watching until S15-16 I think. I remember enjoying it a lot. I watched the recent esport episode and it was just pure garbage. Really sad what happened to it. Feels like they lack narrative structure. It's all over the place and forced as fuck.

12 thru pre-HD are just bad. It's still trying to be a comedy, just failing miserably.
HD seasons are truly zombie Simpsons in the sense that it's a walking mockery of an actual show. Probably written by an algorithm or sneed.

It definitely was almost perfect up to season 8, 9-12 they were still sort of humorous sort of original episodes but their writing turned from novel to formulaic. after that is no man's land

It's definitely not a great episode. The Simpsons was well into its decline by that point. In particular, representative of the lacking quality of this episode is its sogn gag, "Sneed's Feed and Seed, Formerly Chuck's." Now "Sneed's Feed and Seed" is certainly an amusing title for its sound, and "Chuck's Feed and Seed" is, I suppose funny, since that's what farmers do with feed and seed, but thats far short of anything resembling a punchline, much less one fitting with the famous wit of the series.
