Why is this so underrated?
Other urls found in this thread:
>interesting setting (early medieval England)
found the problem
probably because the first season looks pretty cheap compared with other shows.
But it was really fun watching them get better and better set pieces, costumes and locations from season to season.
Season 3 looks much better then modern game of thrones
what's his name again?
Season one is “okay”
I wouldn't say underrated, just not well known. everyone I know who watched it think it's great
>start watching this show
>terrible costumes
>terrible fight choreography
>anachronisms left right centre
>protagonist tries to rush an archer shooting arrows at him
>fucks up
>archer about to shoot him
>50m perfect axe throw saves his life
>thrown by a girl in a dress that probably cant even lift that axe IRL
DROPPED
he is ÖÖTRED son of ÖÖTRED
Good show, shit main actor.
On Yea Forums at least it's pretty well liked overall and the threads attracted a lot of people when season 3 came out.
jealous beta detected
Show is decent
Arseling song of Arseling.
He has poor range but I think he's a good fit for a rolling chad who makes everyone seethe
>interesting setting (early medieval England)
stopped reading there
he looks the part and certainly is good at being an antagonistic cunt but the delivery of his lines and his attempts to emote are painful to behold.
I’m usually drunk when I watch it but that one song that keeps playing when they march that sounds dramatic makes me laugh.
He's far too swarthy to be an Anglo
It's not capeshit so it isn't shilled here
It's from the same author as the Sharpe series of books, who likes writing chads. Alexander Dreymon is no Sean Bean but he grew on me.
In what universe is this swarthy? He's probably just slightly tanned in the series or dirty.
context?
this
OOOOOOOAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAAAAAA EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
youtube.com
thot patrolling.
pretty much. way more threads for last kingdom than most ongoing shows.
Kinda burned out on it a bit.
It's fun, but Uthred is such a massive Gary Stu that it gets a bit tedious in the long run.
bernhard cornwell appeared in an episode during season 3 and got shanked in the back while taking a piss lmao
the main character is annoying as fuck as are the simplistic antagonists and tendency towards anti-church fedora tipping
the show has its moments but still
Better than GOT.
All above average.
>pagan England
>WHY THEY NO LIKE MY PEDO PRIEST
what point are you even trying to make?
the mc is written as being staunchly pagan but the characterisation of the christian characters is still quite nuanced.
> It‘s an Uhtred fucks up episode
What point are YOU trying to make?
Of course they would hate the Church.
What else?
>Of course they would hate the Church.
>Of course
why
christians pretty much wiped out all of our culture and history, so fuck those guys. We know fuck all about druids because of them
I just assumed it was another Netflix history rape and never bothered. There's only so much spitting on muh culture I can subject myself to.
But that's just me.
You forgot one
Emily Cox has god-tier tattas
>bawww my ancestors
Lmao, worse than native americans
lol
roman pagans wiped out the druids you utter fuck wipe
>cling to modern christian culture
>hate on the cultures it replaced
explain yourself faggot
>made by the BBC and Netflix
Can't say I'm very intrigued by it.
Not sure England was pagan during the reign of Alfred the Great, many of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms were full blown catholic. Anyway the whole point of the show is that Uhtred is torn between his Christian heritage and his upbringing by bastard heathen Danes. He has close friends who are pagan and very close friends who are Christian.
Romans started the job but they lasted until the 9th century actually, you utter fuck wipe. Roman culture never reached Scotland or the Welsh mountains
you'd be surprised in that regard.
Also top tier waifus
Because,
0. because they are pagans and the Church wants to eradicate everything they believe in
1. because the Church is another imposing institution beyond the king
2. because the Church is a powerful political entity that takes sides in every dispute between the various houses/clans
3. because the Church is imposing debts on the protagonist
great job just talking out of your ass
go watch varg blather on youtube
shame they killed him off
Just do some research and realise why you're wrong
>norse
>anything to do with brythonic
hild is best girl
>WE WANT THE GOT AUDIENCE
Then they fucked up because TLK moves at great speed through its storyline and doesn't rely on you having to wait until the end of the season for something to happen.
>bernard cornwell completes 11 novels in 15 years with more on the way
>martin is struggling to complete 7 in 20+ years
The state of American writers.
Because I watched the whole first season and it was a shitty GoT-ripoff snoozefest?
Seriously?
Because I watched the whole first season and just couldn't be arsed. The writing was dull at worst and mediocre at best and the whole thing came across as another attempt to capitalize on the "Action and Titties!"-craze.
What was his problem?
It has almost nothing in common with got you brainlet fuck
spends most of the time being held captive then gets drowned by uhtred lmao
I love this show. Did anyone else notice that one of the Vikings in the opening titles with his shield raised, shouting? He's almost a direct copy of a Skyrim concept art / screenshot. I'm sure of it
Much better than whatever the fuck Vikings was supposed to be that’s for sure.
DELET
Look at the OP pic. He looks like he's related to Colin Farrel.
Because OP's picture has been edited and photoshopped by the creators of the show.
>>decent historical accuracy
HAHHAHAHA
Author's anti-Christian self-insert MC ruins the show
I'm sure some duct tape will fix her, right?
Finan is best character, once Leofric died.
And as a result the character looks swarthy as hell, not Anglo at all.
