He'll have an identity crisis that he'll have no time to deal with because he has a war to worry about. But either circumstances will leave him the only heir left or the position will be thrust upon him. He doesn't have the desire to rule, and finds it an annoyance / burden. Hence why he'll rule. Dany will likely die in child birth and he'll have to wed Sansa to calm the northerners the fuck down. The North have the desire to have a king. A Targaryen raised by Ned Stark gets the ball rolling but they won't be happy until Sansa is put in the mix of things. Hence why they've had Jon and Sansa's relationship has been like a couple playing house since their reunion. A political marriage. They both resemble Ned and Cat and unlike Cat she'll raise the child as her own. That child will likely breed with whatever child Jon and Sansa end up creating. A child from both Sansa and Dany breeding keeps the Ice and Fire line balanced also.

But I don't see the north willing to truly be apart of the seven kingdoms unless the monarch are both children raised by Ned Stark with his blood.
