South Korea

Recommend me some South Korean kino. I just watched Burning and I need more.

Let's take the filmographies of Park Chan-wook, Bong Joon-ho and Lee Chang-dong as read.

The Tooth and The Nail
The Witness
Believer

korean "cinema" is unironically garbage, almost as bad as their music or fashion industry

truly a soulless race of consumerist bug people

Thx

Do any of these have that shitty soap opera aesthetic that shittier Korean films have?

here it is

omg looks cheesy as fuck

Going By the Book is a really funny Korean movie. As in, if the entire movie was in English with westerners I would still find it funny

The handmaiden
The villainess
Kingdom (netflix series but it's good)
this must be an old list

I say The Wailing some time ago and I was incredibly confused why the movie was being shot as a comedy until it got more serious. Pretty weird direction. Also Koreans can't into religion so there's that.

I saw the devil
Inside men
Memories of a murder
New world
The handmaiden

the handmaiden sucked.
