BASED
That's rad as fuck
Toku is the shit.
AAAMAAAZONNNN
that was kino
those people gut and eat fish all day why do you think this would upset them?
Most of the Ultra Seven episodes would be traumatizing to western kids.
The one where everyone goes crazy from smoking infected cigarettes making them ultra paranoid. It's such a dark and fucked up episode. Starts off with a guy beating up a woman as a bunch of kids watch. Ends with a message insulting humanities inherit paranoia and distrust of their fellow man.
youtube.com
Full episode subtitled.
I still remember when godzilla ripped the lower jaw off some lizard dude. It was really fucked up godzilla
Sounds interesting. Thanks for the link.
Just to put it into perspective this show is contemporary with the original run of Tom and Jerry, the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon, and the TV show Lost in Space.
If you compare it to Tom and Jerry it's really not that extreme, well save all the blood.
Post Sentai and KR webms
Great thread. These webms are more enjoyable than watching American capeshit.
Honestly though how many years before Japan inevitably grows its military and tries to conquer someone again?
50 years? 100? 500?
lol
These are hilarious but I can't tell if that's what they're going for or if they're unintentionally hilarious.
when he punches the hole through the other monster looks exactly like that scene from kung-pow. A film I watched as a child.
>He punched a hole through that monster
Is that like his stomach blood on the ground? You don't see that every day... I mean, that doesn't really even seem possible if you think about it, with body organs and cartilage and bones. I mean I'm no doctor but it was like one clean chunk.
The Riders often fuck with the villains.
i hate how Americans have ruined the rest of the world with making their media belief the standard
Is this why Cicada has a power drill in Hotline Miami? That's a pretty deep reference.
lmao
Which Ultraman serie should I watch from the 2000s and up to now? Any movies you can recommend?
Jesus christ
If you can't tell you are really low IQ. People back then liked to have fun.
Holy shit, if this is normal for Kamen Rider, this is fucking awesome. Ultraman is the only character of these types that I was familiar with growing up. Fucking loved Ultraman as a little kid, now I wish I'd known of Kamen Rider back then.
It happens from time to time. With V3 and Stronger in particular.
old japanese tv shows are pure kino and rad as fuck
V3 is the goat Rider troll.
His biggest dick move was stealing the girl at the end of SD.
Is V3 related to V8?
Can V8 do this?
Or this?
no
Let's talk about how Rider's had some of the best theme music

Compilation
woops completely forgot this kino
[becomes capekino 50 years ago in your path]
Ultraman was way ahead of it's time in terms of special effects, and cinematography. It baffles the mind that those detailed miniature sets they made were on a TV show's budget and came out weekly.
Tsuburaya was one of a kind. He fundamentally changed how movies were made.
I think it can actually.
they seem completely pussyfied
the only fighting they'll ever do is defensive maybe
>basedlords are frightened by this
>that hand
It is weird how they linger on the dismembered bodies
Compare ultraman or kamen rider to power rangers.
In rangers the megazord slashes the monster with its sword then the monster explodes and dies instantly.
Compare that to this where they show the life slowly draining out of the dismembered monster as its eyes slowly close
Is this in any way related to Jet Jaguar?
*ahem*
that samurai cut was fucking kino
*brutalizes you*
Japan is completely and utterly onions-infected now.
Isn't there an episode of Ultraseven that's banned in Japan because it mocks people who were disfigured by radiation (but oddly was aired in the US when Turner dubbed the series)?
Do you think being on a a toku show set in the 60s/70s would be fun or grueling work?
are there artbooks or anything of that nature with all these creature designs?
top kek
There have been literally countless artbooks, magazines, pamphlets etc over the decades but good luck finding any available in the west
I don't know about their military, but their entertainment creating skills are still top notch.
That's not true at all.
If they were, they'd be clamoring to let in refugees and immigrants instead of telling them to fuck off.
47% of Japs are in favor of rapefugees.

>pulled out of my ass
Jet Jaguar is a flimsy copy of Ultraman. He was added to a Godzilla film to appeal to fans of Ultraman and Kamen Rider.
>Source: The Mainichi Shimbun newspaper opinion poll
Because we own the world.
Now sit down or be humble, you don't want to see mommy's and daddy's skull on top of a burning pile of corpses from your countrymen, do you?
>polls
Basically it goes:
>Eiji Tsubaray did the special FX for Toho's Godzilla movies
>Tsubaraya founded his own production studio and created Ultra Man for TV
>Toho decided to rip off Ultra Man by introducing a knock-off character named Jet Jaguar in Godzilla vs. Megallon
>Toho then tried to spin Jet Jaguar off into his own TV series
>Retooled the Jet Jaguar TV series into Zone Fighter, and even MORE direct rip-off of Ultra Man
>Regardless, Zone Fighter is canon to the Showa Era Godzilla films and features cameos from Godzilla, Gigan and King Ghidorah
All that being said, Zone Fighter's an alright show so far as Ultra Man rip-offs go. Only problem is that it doesn't have an episode that starts the story and doesn't have an episode that concludes the story, so it feels kinda pointless and unsatisfying.
China would just drop nuclear rain on them and Japan would be no more
Bitch ass kaiju need to be put in their place
>not all kaiju
OOO is the most catchy
Despite the usual goofy shit, there's such nice cinematography and camera work in this show.
I like OOO's theme too.
But I like ska in general.
Episode 12. It's missing from all DVD and VHS releases, but there are VHSrips of the original TV airings online.
Sentai was so nice and Simple
Even in the PR version of Sentai, they don’t have the balls to show the heroes stabbing the monsters. It’s one thing not to show human blood, but the monsters aren’t fucking real. Is it simply the result of soccer moms over coddling their kids?
youtube.com
Drive has some top Kino fights.
Yes. The heavy censorship of Sentai footage in Power Rangers is because of soccer moms.
Yeah and meanwhile multi-billion dollar Marlel dogshit doesn't even bother with that pesky cinematography stuff, outclassed by a five decades old Jap television series
how do you stop him?
>vid ends before Gou takes the axe and wrecks the driver
That's the best part fag.
youtube.com
Just for you, user. Sorry I don't have webm version.
Marvel doesn't care because they could literally film all their movies as flat wide shots against lifeless grey airports and make 12 trillion dollars, so why bother trying?
Now THAT is fucking kino.
epic sentai music coming through

dope
Nigger Ultraman is contemporary to Adam West Batman, the best live action capeshit adaptation that the west could muster at the time whereas Japan was pumping out completely original characters not based on decades of funny papers.
Wish I had a Webm of this scene. Old-school toku is some legit great stuff.
This is from the show Power Rangers was based on.
Toku violence isn't the same as cartoon haha funneh violence, though.
Children's anime used to be hardcore too. It's been toned down since then but it's still keeping it very real compared to the baby shows Americans are used to. The mentality in Japan is that children's stuff shouldn't be fundamentally different from adult stuff and kids don't need be to be protected from everything and expected to understand everything.
Reminder that Japanese tokusatsu superheroes make Yea Forumsmblr SEETHE.Threads about them should become a mainstay on Yea Forums.
You're kind of right.
Not all anime are kiddie cartoons. Most of the popular ones are for teens or are otaku pandering bottom of the barrel trash.
thing is, I couldn't care less what Yea Forumsmblr thinks
>Robotech and Power Rangers are better than the originals
Jesus fucking christ.
Anime and cartoons aren't the same thing at all, and most anime aren't made for children. Anime doesn't specifically target teens, and otaku pandering doesn't exist.
>otaku pandering doesn't exist
Ok. How does waifu pandering not exist?
A waifu is a character that you are married to, and it can be any character. Studios couldn't engage in waifu pandering even if they tried to.
Bullshit, Detective Conan is pretty much a household name in Japan with its last movie having better sale domestically than fucking Infinity War. And it's more kino than most action movies Hollywood shitted out these days.
People don't seem to realize just how much cultural significance Ultraman has in asia
Ultraman fucks up Tarkus.
user. Japanese companies design their female characters' appearance and personalities so ronery otakus will get attached to said character and be prone to spend money on said series' merchandise.
Do you seriously think everything japan makes is made with care and soul just because it has cute girls? Everything is designed to sell, just like in the west.
I'm not even talking about the quality of the products right now, but if you think japanese companies don't pander to otakus, then you're just wrong.
Otaku are a bogeyman. They do not exist in the sense that Westerners think they do. Merchandise is the byproduct of anime, not the other way around. Female characters are simply designed to be attractive and interesting.
>Do you seriously think everything japan makes is made with care and soul just because it has cute girls?
Do you seriously think that cute girls are an evil plot just because you come from a different culture that hates them?
>if you think japanese companies don't pander to otakus, then you're just wrong.
Otaku pandering doesn't exist.
Robotech is.
>Take 3 mediocre-to-awful anime
>Combine them into 1 watchable cartoon
Objective improvement.
Ok, man. I'm not gonna get into a discussion with someone that worships products like that.
All modern media is made to pander to an audience and sell stuff, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.
You do you, user.
It's not that I worship anything, it's that you are projecting your own dislike of something onto other people.
>All modern media is made to pander to an audience and sell stuff, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.
This is complete fantasy. Just because you don't like anything doesn't mean that nobody does.
>All modern media is made to pander to an audience and sell stuff
Explain Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. Those were made with the express purpose of pissing off the existing consumer base, not pander to them.
>muh flower fuel
>muh endless war
>muh robotechnology
AND WE
Wow. Detective Conan love on Yea Forums. I'm shocked.
Too bad we're in the filler Grand Canyon right now.
Ghostbusters is easy, they tried to pander to a wider demographic (fat women).
I don't really know what the fuck they were thinking when making TLJ, though.
That clip is from Ultraseven, which was from 1967
Ultraman started in 66, same year as Batman
