1st for Bran

To all those Targ loyalists!
Rhaegar was a useless piece of shit.
He was married, he had a caring wife and a child, yet he had to go and kidnap Robert's promised wife.
With Robert being one of the most influential men and the one in the right, this brought pain and ruin on the Targs.
Rhaegar actively destroyed the Targ kingdom just to pursue a shitty prophecy.

"B-but what if Lyanna loved Rhaegar?"
WHO GIVES A FUCK who that whore loved, she was promised to Robert to join two of the biggest houses, you dumbfuck, and a huge queerlooking faggot fucking took her away.

"b-bbut Robert is the usurper"
NO YOU RETARD, Targs love boasting about how they conquered the fucking kingdom "With Fire and Blood" and when someone gives some blood back they cry for their mommies.
Also, Robert did it without fucking overpowered dragons.

Pic related, Targ fucking shit getting his face punched in

Is there a chance that anyone other than Dinklage wins an acting award? He's been phoning it in big time for about 4 seasons now yet still keeps getting the most attention.

Nikolaj and Michelle Farley should have at least been nominated in season 3. And even with the shittier writing of the later seasons, Lena Headey has consistently done very well with what they've given her. If Cersei's actress was Dany/Jon/Sansa tier there'd be no show left

/NIKOLAJ/

I just want to remind you that Benioff wrote the screenplay to X-Men Origins.

Every time you question the current quality of the show compared to before they started running out of source material there is your answer.

Instead of posting how it's all shit and none of it makes sense, let's post a satisfying ending to it all. You start.

Why the fuck couldnt have george did some more research before he chose these two dweebs

>32:58
>"The dragons a barely eating"
If she thinks of them as her children and is actually concerned for their well being, she would use their names. GOT now has to dialogue of a romcom, prove me wrong.

oh shit. that explains so much.

OI M8! WAS ME COCK BIGGER THAN THE KINGSLAYER? DID HE HAVE A LOICENSE FOR THA INCEST, DID HE? DID 'E GIVE UR NIPS THE OL TWISTY-PLANKY FRUIT & SPLEGGINGS? DID 'E MAKE WITH THE FORCED FRICTION FUN TOIME LIKE OL EURON?

>Dragon's gotta eat, Dany.

For how long this encounter was hinted at and teased, it was pretty damn dumb. I thought for sure we'd see some sex and it would be some wild romp or whatever suits both characters.

also if you've never seen X-Men Origins before

Game of Thrones wouldn't have happened wihout D&D. It wasn't like HBO was lacking pilots and projects to develop.

I have. I'm a huge comic book & movie fan, but the best part of that movie is the opening montage with Logan and Victor. After that, it quickly degenerated.
The good thing about it is the end of Will.I.am's acting career.

Flame sword +10 vs ice creatures, +5 vs humans. Hell yeah

I remember reading HBO approached George and George chose DnD because they knew R+L=J

>Liev Schrieber
I cant look at this guy without getting grossed out

Every fucking retard knew that R+L=J.

True, but they've since believed Game of Thrones was their own success and now their hubris is limitless. It'll be fun to watch them come back to reality

Then you think she's going to fly to find them food or farther south to keep them healthy. Nope. Just for a romantic excursion with Jon.

how do i become more like euron?

I guess the other directors who offered didnt but george shouldnt have been blinded by their knowledge of his works and instead should have looked at their skill in their own works.

they didn't figure out shit, they just read fan theories on that asoiaf forum. we know they read forums because that's where they got the idea to hire jason momoa for drogo, someone on the board suggested him.

Post yfw when next episode Dany sentences Brienne to be burned along with Jaime after she defends him in the trial, which Dany deems as untrustworthy. Only after Bran verifies their story of the Mad King does she back down, but her flippant reaction towards Brienne pisses off Sansa, Tyrion and Jaime, promoting some counter-scheming

Can somebody actually post Season 8 predictions instead of reasons why D&D are retarded

I still believe in Cleganebowl

actually don't I cry easily

I wouldnt put it past them to have weaseled their way in without fully knowing or caring about the setting, considering how its turned out. That bit on Momoa is interesting any forum links?

>The thing that's really striking when you watch HBO's Game of Thrones television series is how closely it sticks to George R.R. Martin's original book. We talked to producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff about how they made it work.

>We were lucky enough to be on a conference call with Weiss and Benioff, along with some other reporters. (We've watched a few episodes of Game of Thrones already, and we'll have our spoiler-free reaction next week.) The producers told us about how they were able to bring such a faithful reconstruction of the book to the screen, and whether there might be more changes in book two.

>Minor spoilers ahead...

>The one thing they stressed, over and over again, is that they wanted the TV series to be as close to the books as possible — they really loved the books, ever since they read them years ago, and were full of excitement about the prospects of bringing their favorite scenes to the screen. "By and large, fans of the books are going to find a faithful incarnation here, where the first scenes of the show are pretty close to the first scenes of the book, and so are the last scenes," says Benioff.

Imagine

>The books were originally pitched to Weiss and Benioff as a movie, which would have had to focus on only one character and tone down the sex and violence for a PG-13 rating.

>Friendly reminder Stannis is dead and fucking died off-screen.
What the fuck were D&D thinking? I admit, even into Season 7 I thought there was some Stannis reveal. Why the fuck would they kill him off screen? Blows my fucking mind

Hmm, nothing about the Mountain. He'll be the only survivor of the war with the Night King, the get killed by a walker version of Hodor.

It's going to happen, and it's going to be glorious.

Actual New Thread is here:

What absolutely baffles me is that ever since season 5 there has been an ever increasing disdain for the booknerd culture behind ASoIaF that is critical of the show. A booknerd is the reason the source material for a compelling show even exists. You need people that dissect shitty storylines for books to exist that avoid shitty storylines. Do these people think that guys like GRRM just spawn out of thin air? Without him there is no GoT to ruin.

They really should have popped in again

If the Lannister gold has run out, why couldn't they begin mining the old Reynes silver + gold mines?
Or did the Reynes exhaust their mines as well?

D& D BTFO

In all seriousness, where did it all go wrong bros? Season 4? Is there a precise episode where this went to shit?

Tywin flooded them i'm pretty sure.

along with people who start shitty unnamed editions like 50 posts early or leave out the subject line like these other two threads

Then unflood them? Flooding does not destroy ores.

Undoubtedly

my god the dialogue for the first episode in season 8 was ass. i noticed the quality had gone down after season 6 but... here, it was so out there that i couldn’t even ignore it

>HBO's Game of Thrones probably owes its existence to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy—a series to which Game of Thrones, fairly or unfairly, will always be compared. In Inside HBO's Game of Thrones, Martin reveals that he was contacted by a few (apparently insane) producers seeking the next Lord of the Rings who proposed turning all seven of the series' novels—including the two Martin hasn't written yet—into a single feature-length film. There were so many ill-conceived attempts to adapt A Game of Thrones and its sequels that Martin even tried to dissuade Benioff and Weiss from attempting to make the HBO series: "It's too big. It's too complicated. It's too expensive," he said.

>But anyone who's read the remaining books in Martin's series knows that more substantial cuts are all but inevitable--a fact that D.B. Weiss readily acknowledges:

>"In the first season, I'd say we managed to keep almost everything we really loved. Going forward, alas, there will have to be some sacrifices or compromises—otherwise we'd need thirty episodes per season, and our casting budget would sink the ship."

>It's worth remembering that Game of Thrones' first priority is being a great TV series, not a great adaptation of George R.R. Martin's novels (though ideally it will continue to be both). But I'm crossing my fingers that Game of Thrones can turn the narrative alterations required by financial and time constraints into an asset, not a liability. (After all, it's done it before; the first season's exchange between Robert Baratheon and Cersei Lannister, which is one of the series' best, doesn't appear in the books at all.) As Game of Thrones continues, inevitably, to deviate from its literary source material, it will either feel like an incomplete version of a much larger tale or a distinct, streamlined story of its own.

I liked the Trial of Tyrion and the Oberyn Mountain fight but after that I can't remember anything worthwhile. First episode of S5 is actually unwatchable at this point.

i dont want to see theon die bros hes come to far

This is the power of the cockless.

I think Tywin only flooded it for a few days and just closed the mines. Also I think they mined those too or Tywin would've thought of it.

Copy pasted from other thread because there was a split.

What if the NK just walks around Winterfell? Why does he need to siege a stupid castle for? He can just wait it and out until it's all winter.

winterfell has secret passageways they can use to escape

This thread and the show need more Ghost.

Best possible plot twist would have been if the wall had held and the night king and his undead army were a giant red herring.

>And I would let myself be consumed by maggots before mocking the family name and making you heir to Casterly Rock.
I don't care what anyone says. Tywin was the best fucking character of the whole series. All he did, he did for his family and their honor and their place in the future. Fite me, betafags.

Attached: tywin13.png (720x402, 301K)

>House Reyne was a family of First Men that traced their roots back to the Age of Heroes, where they made their subterranean seat at Castamere, established around a rich system of mines, caves, and tunnels. The mine's silver and gold made them wealthy, much like the Lannisters of Casterly Rock. The Reynes became a power in the westerlands and in time styled themselves as the Lords of Castamere.[1]

>Tarbeck Hall was the first to feel Tywin's wrath and House Tarbeck was exterminated, including Ellyn. After an unsuccessful battle against the Lannister host led by Tywin, Ser Reynard and the wounded Lord Roger took refuge in the mines underneath Castamere. Reynard, once his folk were safe, offered terms to Tywin. Instead Tywin ordered the sealing of Castamere's entrances and the diverting of nearby water into the mine, causing the deaths of all within.[10]

It dosen't seem like Tywin bothered because in the books atleast. Rolph Spicer is granted Castamere after the RW. But then the "We're out of Gold' thing is exclusive to the show isn't it? It might be the Reynes ran out of gold too, in preparation for their little revolt.

LMAO look at this fucking faggot sperging over his show with Dragons. It's not that serious dude. Have sex

His family consisted of a bunch of dishonorable losers though.

>can't keep his kids from fucking each other
>doesn't have the balls to kill his deformed son who brings him nothing but shame
user...

yeah. family.

who the fuck even pretends to care about cleganebowl?

Seriously, what the FUCK happened to Ghost?

That's the whole point, user. His dad was a pushover so when he was a teenager he rode out without permission and extinguished two vassal Houses. Then all he did to protect his family honor and respect was undone by his shitty fucking children. It's kind of the whole character arc.

>doesn't have the balls to kill his deformed son who brings him nothing but shame
Killing your children is kind of frowned upon, user. Not to mention the rumors that would spread about Tyrion being a Targ bastard that would float about if he did it.

Attached: tywin1.jpg (600x450, 38K)

Let's face it lads. Tywin should have just let Aerys Prima Nocta'd Joanna. He would have gotten;

1. A proper heir
2. An eventual claimant to the throne

GET OUT
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

afaik books never mentioned CR running out of gold

Maybe he didn't consider that they would run out of source material before he could finish the books. George seems to have the mindset of a procrastinator and probably never seriously considered that they will eventually just have to write everything themselves.

Also I'm going to make the bold prediction that George doesn't actually know how the series is going to end. He probably had a lot of trouble giving them advice on where the show is going to go after they ran out book material to adapt. This is the guy who throws out entire chapters and storylines and rewrites previous chapters from the ground up to fit into a new narrative. No doubt he contemplated on some vague ideas for potential endings but I wouldn't put it past him to ignore those in favor of an ending that excites him more. No one can seriously suggest that this guy came up with an ending in 1991 while he was writing a story about children that find a dead direwolf that wasn't originally intended to be a fantasy epic and decided to stick with it for the next 29 years. He's been working on this before the majority of /got/ posters were even born. Many of those characters' stated age are lower than the years George spent developing them on the page. There is no fucking way he knows where this shit is going with a degree of certainty that would allow the show to match the books without skipping over plotlines that would actually make it coherent.

Dame Lillard is fucking SCHOOLING Westbrick right now, holy shit

They don't need the book culture now. They have enough casual viewers to make the original fans irrelevant. The story was lost on economic grounds; your displeasure is outweighed 10/1

if he had killed Tyrion at birth he'd still be alive

does lelfinger is alive?

Who's that ?

>Rich veins of gold and silver had made the Reynes near as wealthy as the Lannisters during the Age of Heroes; to defend their riches, they had raised curtain walls about the entrance to their mine, closed it with an oak-and-iron gate, and flanked it with a pair of stout towers. Keeps and halls had followed, but all the while the mineshafts had gone deeper and deeper, and when at last the gold gave out, they had been widened into halls and galleries and snug bedchambers, a warren of tunnels and a vast, echoing ballroom. To the ignorant eye, Castamere seemed a modest holding, a fit seat for a landed knight or small lord, but those who knew its secrets knew that nine-tenths of the castle was beneath the ground.

>and when at last the gold gave out,

This is to be taken with a grain of salt, obviously.

Sorry Dabid already decided he will redeem himself by dying

Was talking about Casterly Rock but makes sense for the Reynes to do something when their gold supply is about to run out.

What does Westeros produce? Why does the Iron Bank keep investing ?

Attached: arya.jpg (1173x159, 135K)

Interest repayments are best when the principal cannot be paid off.

Its a gigantic kingdom the size of south america in piece time im sure its their single best investment

they give out loans and want interest on those loans. the iron bank might be playing some game with westeros, but no one is really sure what they're doing. the wealthiest area is probably the reach, now that the gold mines are gone, the reach is extremely wealthy with crops.

Louis C.K. said you have to keep all the characters alive on the page if you want them to exist. Why did D&D let so many characters die but exist in name only. Little Finger, Tyrion, Varys. Bnejen and Varys. They're not who they were.

because grrm didnt finish the books

this thread is fascinating

>What does Westeros produce?

wars

They have to be producing goods for export, be an emerging economy or be in a Breton-Woods type arrangement. I don't think Bravos are offloading surplus produce to Westeros, they're not an emerging economy and they have no raw material so what is Westeros' value ?

DnD's too fking lazy to just kill him off during the Battle of Castle Black or at Battle of the Bastards
