So this movie was like big and shit and now everyone forgot it exists.
Why is nu-horror so forgettable?

i don't remember 99% of horror from the 80s either. or 100% from the 70s.
That's because you suck at remembering
i'm keeping your thread alive butthole because i want to know good movies
I sure remember that turn for the sexy in act 3. Nu horror is bretty gud, bruh
Do you want me to recommend you some top-tier nu-horror?
because it isn't good. the fact that this movie got lauded as above average is a testament to that
The director had to change the ending cause of retarded suits
i liked it, was interesting to see a horror movie from the perspective of the evil home invaders instead of the obvious good guy.
It's not a horror movie. It's a thriller, you genre-blind pleb.
Watched pic related for the first time yesterday, p good but the third act was a little weak
i mean you're right but it was marketed as a horror movie therefor we refer to it as one.
I remember it, wasn't bad. Stephen Lang is great in anything he does these days. Always will remember him as Ike in Tombstone.
Then Jaws is also not a horror movie
I don't personally consider Jaws a horror movie
I mean, a horror movie is whatever makes you scared. Movies about losing your pet are horror movies to me. Ending up alone, not achieving one's dreams. Movies about DEATH. A Ghost Story is fucking terrifying. It's at least more scary then fucking Scream 4 for example. The Shawshank Redemption is somehow unsettling to watch, getting locked up for 20+ while getting raped in the ass is surely horror. Idk hopefully you got what I'm trying to say
Its been like that since about 2000-2001 roughly.
>a horror movie is whatever makes you scared
that's just not true lol. but i do get what you are trying to say
I wanna nut in Jane Levy's asshole.
It's already spawning shitty Netflix rip-offs.

I confuse this and Lights Out for the same movie sometimes.
Netflix really just needs to pull the trigger and be mid-2010s Syfy channel with batshit silly movies.
The short Lights Out film is unironically kino. Feature one however, not so much.
well that goes for all feature films based on shorts. Look at mama, the short was kino and creepy as fuck and the movie was a hot pile of dogshit
