Black Rain (1989) Jump in and talk about this suburb 80's action flick

East meets west in this superb 80's action flick. Michael Douglas is on top of his game in this beautifully shot, almost neo-noirish, action thriller. With a score by Hans Zimmer to boot. Never see it discussed here so lets change that.

Don't ever say you didn't have a good time with Charlie Vincent!

Watched it for the first time a few weeks back. Great flick.

Very good film. An original story that still holds up. I may have to rewatch. Thanks user.

glad you dudes turned up to appreciate it with me. Highly recommend you rewatch cos its a seriously good film. Think it didn't do very well because its a bit of a slow burn for its action hero marketing but i love ever since i caught it on tv one day

His death is a great bit of cinema.

It was one of the most beautifully shot films but it is a bit of a goofy movie.

One of the most underrated 80's cop movies and the best movie western movie set in Japan.

the goofyness is what makes it so good. It's such a cheesy film it has no right to look or sound as good as it does

Has to be paired with Mr. Baseball as part of the late 80s/early 90s Japanese culture clash genre of movies.

' I usually get kissed...before I get fucked.' fantastic dialogue in this movie

Rising Sun with Wesely Snipes and Sean Connery. Good watch but it doesnt hold up as well as Black Rain.

In the early 90's Japans economy almost overtook the USA's and thus a spate of USA/Japan kinos was born

arguably better looking than blade runner

It looks and sounds fucking amazing

Gung Ho as well. I love 80s-90s Japanese economic Boogeyman kino.

I always mean to watch this but I never do.

3/5 great cast

Way too upbeat

Make sure to see the one where Sean Connery says "sempai", I forget what it's called though.

I remember when this came out. It was ahead of its time. I took my grandson to see it for his 40th birthday. Good times.

This scene right here gives me a hard on every time. Especially the way they captured the sound of Michael Douglas shotgun when he clocks it. Fucking beautiful.

it's not that good

I like a lot these 80s/90s Hollywood movies with Yakuza because they usually have Shang Tsung in them and I love that actor

You made the rain black

don't think so. you're supposed to be in the dark like Nick

Thats Rising Sun. surprised there aren't more memes of that film desu

christ, I thought that was Duchovny

wtf happened to Andy Garcia? he was everywhere in the 90s
