ALL of the story was the result of Amy Palladino. If she didn't like something the writers wrote, she changed it of the final script. So blame her for the characters downfall and the season 5/6 shark jump, not the writers in general. Dean is just an average joe schmoe. Jess had great devlopment, but Logan is still the best. Paris gets better with being mean towards the later seasons while Rory continues to fuck up.

the characters are cartoony and 1 dimensional. it works for comedy among the townsfolk but is cringe when you realise there's like 4 families all the exact same young single mom variety . 3 or 4 of the men are like insanely fertile because whenever the story needed something BOOM it's a baby.
and about 3 children who are meant to be the same type of quirky and just LOVE to read, even though one of them is meant to be a bad boy.
and there's some limits in casual conversations since every character seems to have Amy's opinion on books and music.

regardless it's super easy to get into and essentially a anti depressant which is why I don't like to talk about it because I always turn back to it when I'm feeling down

there's lots of crossover in cast/producer. they originated about the same time. GG is more a comedy than it is a drama. pretty 1 dimensional and easy to watch like a 20 minute cartoon.

they both have different gimmicks but it's just unrealistic cutaways vs unrealistic long dialogue. because the only real difference is they each appeal to what teen boys and teen girls respond to (crass humour vs love triangles)
