In FAIRNESS, Neelix is perfectly fine when he's allowed to be angry and angsty.

His best episodes? Becoming suicidal, becoming vengeful towards his sister's killer, and discovering his old best friend is hopelessly corrupt.

That's the Neelix we needed, constantly getting in over his head.

I.e we caught glimpses of the Neelix we should have gotten.

It was the episode where they help Vic Fontaine and he was talking to his girlfriend/fiance, not Jake. Jake barely existed by season 7.

It was a Vic episode. The lounge was taken over by mobsters so they all go in to win it back. But Sisko doesnt want to join in because blacks werent allowed in the lounges during that time
