Seriously, how would this ever happen? How could a group of people destroy like 5 planets with a superweapon, then have their superweapon destroyed (confirmable by probably any sort of telescope or anything) and NOT have the whole galaxy combine against them??! Somehow the FO manages to not only NOT have a the whole galaxy in arms against them, but still manages to apparently conquer most of it. Keep in mind, the Empire already controlled the Galaxy when the first Death Star blew, so they could suppress rebellion. The FO had fucking NOTHING. Maybe a few big ships but seriously, they just showed they were psychos to the whole galaxy. WTF is this shit? It's like if a country on Earth nuked 5 other countries, then was confirmed to be out of nukes, then everyone but like some tiny militia decided "meh, fuck it, lets let them be". Fucking garbage as storytelling. Fuck the Death Star 3.0, and fuck the sequels.

Dude, they were writing and rewriting the movie all the way until that infamous last minute re-edit right before release, there's only the thinnest of threads linking this movie's events together.

And maybe TFA would be okay if TLJ was different. Like, if the FO understandable was the one on the run for all of TLJ, out of option and weapons, and had to find some sort of new power to turn the tide again.

Like literally, turn the tides in TLJ and it would be a dank movie. Then in IX both sides have comparable power and its hype as fuck.

What if they built a second one

Death Star 4.0 would make me kill myself.

How ill Abrams top it in 9?

The Empire's troops and ships didn't magically disappear just because Sheev and Vader died. Their remnants still control a good part of the galaxy and follow Snoke's First Order. The New Republic (aka the former alliance) doesn't have much of a military presence to oppose them. Hence their military elite being called "the resistance"

The resistance were not military elite nor were they affiliated with the New Republic. All of the resistance vehicles and ships were second hand and old military surplus that Leia bought with her own money. That's why Poe and his friends used old t70s instead of new t85s.

so they're space pirates?

Except it's stated in the canon that pretty much all the Empire forces left the galaxy to reorganize for like 20 years or whatever. That gives the ENTIRE GALAXY a bit of time to prep.

That leaves the question of why nobody else does anything. They see the FO destroy a whole sector, lose what they used to do it, and still decide to do nothing?

Anyone else feel almost nothing when alderan and those planets from 7 got iced? Always seemed weird that there wasnt much weight, and the fact that in both films the plot just moved right on and no one in the film seems to care too much either.

Ep7 text crawl says the Resistance is backed by the Republic.

Post timestamp and which movie.

More like space PMC and Leia is Big Boss
Trust me I am not defending this shit setting. But the entire NR fleet was stationed at those five worlds. And since TLJ takes place one day after TLJ I guess the non NR galatic factions haven't decided what to do yet.

Ep 7 text crawl is wrong text font among other things

The whole Aftermath book series. Yes, it is canon, it was written with Disney approval.

i guess on the galactic scale its a bit less significant

>book series
come on now

I really dont care about the books, but they literally are the official canon now to fill in between movies, so what they say is worth discussing.

they're really bad though

>The whole Aftermath book series. Yes, it is canon

According to the chuckleheads of the storygroup. They can't even keep their trilogy movies planned out. They're a joke.

This shit was more retarded than anything in TLJ
plebs eat it up
dude death star
and look in Episode IX DUDE PALPATINE IS ALIVE IN THE BROKEN DEATH STAR LMAO
can't make this shit up really
