enjoy having everything down to your approximate gps coordinates logged
i use kodi and have (not counting individual seasons) about 350 anime, 400 movies and 100 tv shows

I use Jellyfin, only organically coded libre software for me.

>about 350 anime
Are you so young that you're under 18 or so old as to have children who are under 18? Any other answer would be terribly embarrassing.

i've been considering moving to jellyfin for a while, does it offer any advantages to kodi for local in-house streaming? (home server + android tv box)
t. virgin

this

3TB over 4600 files (film and tv)

>not being a full trained sysadmin with an enterprise grade hardware firewall who can block all of plex's attempts to phone home

The android tv app for Jellyfin is fast as fuck, faster than plex or emby, you can still use Kodi as front end though and use the jellyfin for kodi addon to connect to the server instead.

>Jellyfin
almost all clients are in abandoned state lmao

Which clients do you need except for android lmao, stop using shitty tvs

you got me beat. at least 100 of these are garbage that could be deleted too. what are you using for a client? I just got a shield and I don't love it. before that it was an HTPC running kodi but I didn't love that either.

>he thinks his harddrive counts as a collection

Fucking zoomers man.

Here's a (you) for that last tab

how does the Apple TV handle direct play/stream?

>Hes doesn't use period correct original posters.

>how to kiss a girl
bruh

you can do it easily from any apple device and i use VLC for streaming from other devices (you open the VLC app on the apple tv and then you can go to the local IP in your browser and drag/drop stuff in to save it to the apple tv’s VLC app), not as good as plex though as everything has to be stored locally on the apple tv but its useful when i want to just play something once

Purged my collection, only have about 100 atm, Only keeping films I actually like and would watch multiple times now.
I used to have 900ish in my collection like you OP, mostly pretentious/meme shit to prove my "film cred" or whatever, but I grew out of that mindset years ago because no one was ever around to give me validation over it. Who gives a shit what some anons think about you, nonsense at the end of day.

any tips for categories aka organizing your shit. It's becoming overwhelming for me and I have 200 movies

just started

am I a pleb for liking plex? It just works great on every device and I love simple and easy customization

Whats the difference between the data on the disk and the HDD? Jew magic?
One is just and outdated and inferior storage method.

i have none, i use the built in genre categories sometimes

also made some playlists (like for trilogies and the bond movies and shit) although i never use them so it was a bit of a waste of time

I have about 500 dvds and 100 blurays. No point in buying digital. Once those servers go out you lose all those movies.

as if disc rot does not exists

Do you even know what Plex is? It organizes everything you already have. You don't buy anything - the software is free...

And most people who use Plex probably pirated those movies anyway so there's no problem with any servers going down. Since you run your own server.

post plex library to see if pleb or not

Is there any catch? It sounds too good to be true. Do you download it on your hard drive? How does it collect the data for the movies (the poster etc)? Can they delete my shit? I have cateopgotized the movies via directors can they do the same? Can i watch the movies on my tablet, how is that even possible?

>tiny Yea Forums
>only plant is a sad cactus
>direcly under the roof
>obviously not very tidy
that looks depressive af

FUCK YES Career Opportunities. Top tier Jennifer Connelly.

>Is there any catch?
Not really, other than some goys here are saying it collects data.
>It sounds too good to be true.
It is that good. Or at least, the best we have so far.
>Do you download it on your hard drive?
Most people do that yeah. Or you can download stuff to your seedbox and set up Plex there, so you can stream from there.
>How does it collect the data for the movies (the poster etc)?
Using "crawlers" and sites like TheTVDB.
>Can they delete my shit?
Nope
>I have cateopgotized the movies via directors can they do the same?
Yes.
>Can i watch the movies on my tablet, how is that even possible?
The thing about plex is that it has clients for almost everything out there, even SmartTVs. BUT, for iOS devices you need to buy their plex pass.

But in theory, with the correct setup, yeah, you can stream from your Plex server to your tablet.

does it have subtitles?

Sounds based and redpilled. I will try it out. Thanks qt user.

if your .mkv file has subs it naturally displays them
also, you can setup it to automatically download them from sites

cool. so all the files have to be .mkv?

no, it supports everything

I'm only not sure about BluRay .iso
never tried it

looks like this
