this user is right there's nothing intellectual about experiencing a film. You either like it or not and whatever "reasons" or "analysis" you come up with is already after the fact of intuition and your individual perception either accepting or rejecting what you see and hear.
It's really stupid to presume why someone likes things you don't like. The actual truth is, you couldn't possibly understand "why" someone likes it, because if you understood it in the proper sense, you'd like it. Or rather, because you don't like it is why you can't understand it. It's subjective. I sincerely don't understand what people don't "get" about lynch, everything you need to know is in the films. Don't overthink it.
I'd say the best primer film I've found for lynch's work is Repulsion by Polanski, its got many of the weird nightmarish storytelling things but its more literal, and I'd argue is crafted much more meticulously
